I recall reading the entire thing as a child and I wanna reread it again because it calls me. I remember it was so good and I feel it would be nostalgic.

I get the feeling you will not be disappointed - this is one of those series that is as appealing to adults as it is to kids, and I would not be surprised if you found your love and appreciation for the comic actually increasing with a re-read. But I don't want to jinx it; do let me know what you thought if you do take a new look!

I’m a bit late to comment this, but I thank you for making this. I remember watching my brother first show me them when I was quite young. I could barely read and I’d just go through them... And it was still an amazing comic. When I found it at my school library when I was in third grade, I was so happy. I read all of them and read them again the next year.I’m trying to get enough money right now to get that 1300 page full book of the series. I thank you for this review, because your quite the small channel. All of your work on comics deserve much more attention. Thank you.

Bone has long been one of my favorite series. I have the color editions, the black and white editions, the One Volume edition, and I have given the One Volume editions to all of my nephews as Christmas gifts over the years!

I am exactly the same way (as you can tell by this playlist here) and have as many editions of Bone as I could get my hands on. Extending the similarities, I also gifted my nephew the complete Bone, albeit in the colour volumes from Scholastic.

Saw all your videos of Bone series and I must say you have done an amazing job in these videos. I’ve never seen such detailed and splendidly made videos of any comics before. Keep up the good work 👍🏽 tempted to pick the one volume paperback version after seeing this series.

I read up to #6 a few years ago. LOVED THEM! Never finished them because the library I read them in only had until #7. Now, I found the whole series online, may re-read them for nostalgia. Still waiting on that Netflix show!

I read the Bone omnibus in a day. I picked it up to start it while getting up on a Saturday, and then it was eight hours later

Thanks Adam! I have some closer looks at Bone issues coming up. With this intro, I ran into a host of technical problems, and gave away some major spoilers rambling, so a lot of footage was unusable, making this zippy! What do you like better, shorter or longer 'What is ...?' videos?

I remember reading these and them being popular at my elementary school, havent read them since. That Was probably around 2005 so 4th grade or 3rd. I plan to reread them though now that I'm older haha

I read all the Bone GN when I was in middle school and boy it was a great series. I remember going to my school library to get the next book so I can read it two or three times.

Hey I finished reading Out from Boneville. What a great comic book. I want to read more of the series. I love the characters especially the main characters such as Fone Bone and the rat creatures. The world building is excellent due to home simply it is and also the fact that we, as readers, don´t have to be hung up on any timelines. The Rat Creatures are interesting. They remind me of spiders but in the shape of Cousin It from The Adam´s Family. The Bone series, I believe, is just fine as a series and not a show or movie adaptation. Thanks for your introductory video and the time to write back. :)

Haha you made me go look and, indeed, the indica for #12 says #11! It still says February 1994, not the December 1993 of the actual #11. Sharp eyes!

Thanks so much! Yes, there's never any dearth of good reading, is there? I do love Tintin and have since I was a kid. So sometimes I wonder how much that childhood nostalgia has to do with it (it doesn't eventually matter, just a thing I'm curious about). _Bone_ , on the other hand, I read as a full-fledged adult and loved with no caveats, so there's that for whatever it's worth! 😁

I read it in black and white. The one volume edition was quite affordable to get. I didn't expect the eerie dreams but thats what excited me the most. It's the first fantasy work I've read. Any other recommendations?

Rose is a prequel, telling the story of (slight spoiler alert) Gran'ma Ben and the backstory alluded to in Bone. It is also written by Jeff Smith, but drawn by the wonderful Charles Vess.

Would you say it's worth the extra money for the colour edition? I don't mind black and white visuals, but wonder if I would be losing anything without the colour. Or perhaps even the other way around!

Honestly, as lovely as the colours can be, if I had to pick only one, I would choose the original black and white. The depth and shapes really have a different presence and part of the joy of Bone is its artistic achievements within an all-ages work, something that may get a little 'hidden' if colouring it as if primarily for children. Having said that, if you want hardcover, or maybe (I haven't been able to check this personally) thicker paper, the hardcover colour edition would have those. What's your #1 priority? 😁

@@ftloc From what you've said I'm definitely going for the black and white! And I get what you mean. Some of my favourite manga lose something when I compare them to a coloured version. Akira for example. Thanks for the wonderful reply!
