Can’t thank you enough for all these videos. I have just been diagnosed and your videos are educating me on what I can look forward to which has alleviated a lot of my fears.
@Jacqueline Linich Thank you for suggesting this topic. I found out on July 6, 2022 that I have Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. My oncologist has already informed me that I will need radiation after my surgery on hopefully only my left breast.
@@maggieg5719 My mother was diagnosed in late June with Stage 1, grade 2 Breast Cancer and her lumpectomy is tomorrow. The early days were the toughest, but with a plan in motion and good doctors, there is most definitely light at the end of the tunnel. I pray that everything goes well during your procedures. You WILL beat this! ❤️
@@OhGummy Thank you!!! I was diagnosed with Stage 2 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma, ER+, PR+, HER2-, grade 3. I found out Friday that my MRI showed nothing but the original tumor!!! I was freaking out with happiness!!! Just before that, I found out I tested NEGATIVE for BRCA1 and BRCA2!!! So happy!!! My lumpectomy is scheduled for August 8th. I’m looking forward to it. I just want things to keep rolling, so I can get passed this. BTW, I had a hysterectomy because I had fibroids and endometriosis. Rather than suffer through hot flashes (day and night), headaches (which I normally never get), etc., I chose to start taking an estrogen supplement. The minute my gyno found out about my cancer and it being ER+, he had me stop it! So now on top of everything else, I’m having hot flashes about every hour! Fortunately, the headaches have stopped. If I would have known then what I know now, I never would have taken the estrogen. My Breast Specialist (surgical oncologist) told me from day one, that that’s what caused my cancer. So ladies going through menopausal symptoms, please do not take estrogen supplements. Please try to power through the symptoms. Gummy, good luck to your mom. You are both fortunate to have each other!
Thank you for the feedback. Make sure you visit the complete Breast Cancer School for Patients. Same video lessons, but organized in the order of topics you will experience them. www.breastcancercourse.org/
With all the AI and all the technology why isn't their treatment at home? Besides driving an hour or two for treatment. They really need like they had back in the day. Have the doctor or nurse does at home house calls.
Hi Dr. Williams! Thank you very much for your very informative videos about cancer, chemotherapy, radiation therapy & hormonal therapy. I have a question doctor Williams.......my cousin is 80 years old, she had invasive solid papillary carcinoma with mucinous feature. She had lumpectomy, the tumor was 1.6 cm & all 5 lymph nodes taken from her armpit, the biopsy results were all negatives. Does she need to have a radiation therapy? She refused to have radiation, she chose Hormonal therapy. Did she make the right decision? I love to watch your videos.
It is a long process. Go to the Breast Cancer School for Patients and take our specific lesson on “”Will I Need Radiation “. www.breastcancercourse.org/will-i-need-radiation/ I hope it helps.
Now I am under treatmen of breast cancer stage 2,but my doctor said I only need 4 times cemmoterapy and no need radiation... And in the same time my friends have 6 Times cemmoterapy and 15 times radiation,i don't understand why?
Mine didnt want to do radiation with onco score of 30 and k167 of 32 he said that there is a study woman over 70. Dont need it. Couldnt take harmone pill. He wanted me to take 2 more pills so i can tolerate one. So ridiculous. Went to different dr am getting rafiation now. Six month songram and mamo shows a cyst 1.1 mm. The new dr said you will need biopsy to be sure no cancer. I am so mad at first radiologist. I wish i had done mastecomy. Because i am over 70 i should die so stupid
@M M I wish you would elaborate. I was just told I have Invasive Ductal Carcinoma, ER+, PR+, HER2- in my left breast, on July 6, 2022. My oncologist told me I will need radiation after my surgery. Won’t know until after surgery if I need chemo. Thank you in advance if you provide more information. Much appreciated.
@@michellewheatley4406 i dodged that bullet. Thank goodness! I had a very small dcis with suspicion of microinvasion. My surgeon presented my cast to a tumor board and all of the surgeons and radiologists aaid they wouldnt recommend radiation. I still followed up with a radiologist after that and after he went on about the benefits of radiation, i said, i i were your wife or your daughter would you recommned radiation in my case? He said no, he would just make sure to get a mammo every 6 months to keep an eye on it. So thats what im going with.
