What I love about reactors like schlatt is that he ACTUALLY adds onto what he's watching He isnt just staring into the abyss he actually responds to what he's watching. Wether with a joke or concern or remembering what he did back in '99
Mainly because Schlatt’s viewers are psychotic and know exactly what kind of content he will be disgusted by the most. Also even Schlatt, who is pretty good in terms of making not-scummy reaction content, announced that he wasn’t going to do reaction content anymore (outside of like stuff his fans submit like the bedrooms and cooking).
Hassan does too most of the time not really with j Aubrey and the documentary channels but he does with Ben Shapiro and he also plays games on live most of the time instead of Xqc and sssniperwolf just saying “woahhhhh that’s crazy”

xqc has never cooked anything in his life, he let others cook for him while putting in the least effort (FaZe) and basically took the credit for Michelin worthy chefs and called it his down 💀

This makes me remember when Charmx was around. He was probably the best reactor. He was genuine and funny. I used to miss him... and now he came back as Fresh Cut Slim/ Content!
I feel like channels like JSchlatt and JonTron are the good examples of Reaction. Sure it's reaction to another persons content, but they add their own editing, jokes, and in Jon's case, bits to the video. Meanwhile XQC, SniperWolf, and others just stare into the screen for so long that until they blink, I think it's just a fucking PNG.
This channel is one of the only people who dont feel afraid to share their opinion, most people are afraid of getting criticised for little things, good work. And look how much society needs an opinion these days as well
I think an Example of a good react channel is Jaby Koay. He usually has a co host who he reacts alongside and they usually provide commentary on what they just saw after the video. I think they have the same vibe as you showing your favorite videos to a group of friends
How do people find reaction content amusing? Most of the time I just watch the original video, because I hate when they pause the fuckin video, like I wanna watch it
pretty simple really most streamers have an audience thats filled with sad lonely people who have this parasocial relationship to ths streamer its honestly really sad and cringe
Some reaction channels are actually entertaining and funny, adding lots to the video, at least in my opinion, but the ones you discussed was of course just absolute trash content made to farm views and money. I mean, how do people get away with just staring at a video and getting way more clout than the guy who originally made it. I'm glad you're bringing more attention to this.
