Good video, very informative. Treatment options haven't been covered but for simple genital infections Doxycycline 100mg twice a day for 7 days is commonly used. If there's a risk of pregnancy then azithromycin is used instead. 👍

Great vid, great rhetoric skills! I would also add some information on treatment of chlamydia with tetracyclines, which is crucial to combat this infection! Also a few questions: 1) How does chlamydia manage to penetrate the blood/synovial barrier? 2 Does chlamydia indeed expose structures which are similar to joint cartilage structures? Is the autoimmune reaction (Reiter's syndrom) associated with chl. similar to that of strep. induced reactive arthritis? Thank you!

Patients with c.trichomatis have a high incidence of reiter's syndrome. Because antibodies formed against c.trichomatis cross react with antigens on the cells of urethra, joints and uveal tract.

It’s not on the inside of the eyelid and definitely conjunctiva is not the reddish part of the eyelid. Conjunctiva is a clear, transparent membrane that lines from the lid margin of the eyelid up to the corneal limbus.

Depends on how long you had Chlamydia and if it damaged the reproductive organs. If no damage was done, then yes, usually no complications should develop. Hope this helps!

I have been attempting for years to remove the Herpes that show up every time and then on my upper lip. I was 26 and my boyfriend was 34 when he cheated and got chlamydia. I wouldn't sleep with him after I forgave him just in case. I'm glad I trusted my instinct because I didn't get it. I'm not shaming him because it happens but I felt so bad for him. He was in so much pain and we couldn't even make love for months after I forgave him because of his symptoms. His eye was infected, he had pus, it burned him to pee, and I think he had back pain but I can't remember anymore. I guess the person he hooked up with told him that she had it recently and she treated it but she clearly didn't, so be careful out there fellas... They met on tinder at a bar and another bizarre thing was that she wasn't very attractive. I'm not perfect but it does not get anymore impulsive than that. Either way I'm glad he told me he slept with someone else. That was a good thing. Another weird thing was that he's a doctor (psychiatrist). Literally the last person I'd imagine would act so self-destructively. We're not together anymore, because he had a pattern of unprotected sex with like 8-10 different people after this and I couldn't take it anymore. Weirdest relationship of my life, however, I do hope he's well and I do hope that anyone who has this infection (or sleeps with anyone other than their partner) lets their sexual partners know. It was very responsible for him to tell me for what it's worth.

You can also have anal Chlamydia which can lead to severe rectitis. Get tested if you had unsafe sex, as this can be a nasty little bug in your body.
