Your channel is currently 10x bigger than mine, and I get the same number of 'collaboration’ requests. It's nuts, and I too don't get involved anymore. In fact, the whole camera RU-vid thing is wearing a bit thin on me now, which is why my channel is changing direction. I'll continue to watch you because I enjoy your playful sense of fun and subtle comedic inserts. It's a double whammy when it's educational too. You were missed by the way. 👍

Thanks for your work. The worst part of the gear dog and pony show is that the "hottest" gear gets the most views, and the more reviewers who simultaneous post their opinions the "hotter" the gear appears. If you post reviews of great unknown stuff, the algorithm suffocates it. So you've set yourself a challenge... I'll be along for the ride.

Loved this video! Great to see you back btw! I just stumbled on your channel, pretty much the same time you took a break. So I thought you might’ve checked out for good. Glad that’s not the case. I just want to sincerely thank you. Its about time actually said it. The final straw for me was two very large RU-vid personalities referring to the iPhone 13 as "a cinematic beast" I think the real issue is with so many new people coming into the game so is so much misinformation and bias doing the rounds. Ps...if you didn't etch it into the sand, I will be so disappointed 🤣

Your decision as to your future content is totally refreshing because I reached the the same conclusion about the ethics of many tech related RU-vid Channels, which resulted in myself getting bored and questioning the authenticity of the content. So I started to cut my subs to increase the quality. 🙏🏾 Ps: you got me laughing when you could not avoid having a dig at JVC! 😂

Having just seen the news that Sony are struggling to get semiconductors and therefore halting production of the Alpha 7 II, a6400, a6100, the ECM-B1M microphone and the Z190 you need not have worried as it looks as though they won't have anything to send you anyway.

Sony are masters at hype , every single product they announce no matter how trivial is guaranteed to flood RU-vid with a hoard of clickbaiters professing their undying love for it

@@jimstirling7223 The reason is that sending a few cameras out to RU-vidrs is so much cheaper than a few ads in magazines. Canon on the other hand don't seem to get this hence Sony leading them in sales even though the Sony colour science still creates magenta images most of the RU-vidrs followers believe the problem has been solved because they are being told this by the Influencers. I don't blame Sony for this in fact they are very switch on as you say compared to a lot of other companies. I do hope sooner or later there are more restrictions on advertising via influencers but of course this will never happen. I have had a number of occasions to pick up on what influencers have obviously not even tested the product properly and have made claims that are not true. There was a case yesterday where Rode claimed their new Lavalier II microphone having a front facing capsule is a revolutionary new design. This is completely untrue as there have been broadcast lavaliers such as the Tram T50 around for years. Rant now over and by the way I was for all my life a Sony user but I have sold everything and bought a Canon which to my mind has much nicer colours.

Great video! Would be great to see you make a video using older equipment, and how it doesn't matter hugely when compared to story/content. I shoot with the fs7 and am just about to buy a used fs5, even though I could upgrade to the fx9 and fx6, as business wise it doesn't make sense to pay for more expensive camera's at the moment!

This be that difference against people who they became learned on yourtube and people who they experienced our real world of production. Addition poeple who they can not work in business no more longer therby they didi mess up because their personality therby they have to merchant stuff on youtibe to pay for beer. We dont listen to them. The moment you open box you accept relationship by merchant so everybody stop lying through those teeth. Listen to extra shots. Weak storytellers they who reliance on gear. Hey, just found your channel. Must say this is probably the most sensible, honest video ive seen in a while! Ive just been through a period of being sent free gear ending up making videos I didnt feel good about. That has now changed into making videos to have better memories for myself, and if that inspires other on the channel its a cool bonus. This video only reinforced my newfound mindset. Still learning video and editing. Having fun in the process is an important factor! Cheers for making this!

I watch your content because I like your presentation and that you dont dumb stuff down. Now with that said, I dont understand 30% of what you are talking about. lol. I used to travel with a Nikon dslr (dx) but as you said "does any one make a bad camera anymore" meaning that I am probably the limiting factor. So now I travel with a canon gx5 II and find that I take it more places and with the larger sensor I get better snap shots. Paired with a R79 (+/- 4.3$) very light tripod goes into my backpack making up one half of my crucial kit, the other being my Jetboil and stove top espresso maker :) accompanying me on every hike and scramble. @@jimstirling7223 No question to that, or, are the cameras maybe overly complicated in setup, the post production tools maybe too, so that the new folks are somewhat unable to succeed (with good footage and a half good story...). OP, as i think (IMHO) throws in product names, imho i found that very limited in my understanding... it's not the gear, it's how you are able to use it, or better, can use it ... to much focus on tech, so the story, the moment, the real content is lost. So, with exceptions like Extrashot, most are their own limiting factor. Tutorials like "The best settings for Product X or Y" might proof that point...

Your support is really appreciated Richard and I'm sorry to disappoint. Obviously, I know the first place to call when I need to borrow something to talk about! [rant ON] It's actually the cheap plastic 'copy products' that I have a real problem with. It's like our industry is being targeted with junk products that fall apart within months... and they are using RU-vid to do it. Ultimately, all it does is stifle innovation as any potential income from new ideas is wiped out so quickly. [rant OFF] However, I do want to talk about quality products that make a difference... so I know we'll still be in touch! Take care.
