Most of conformal coating can play a moisture-proof effect, but it is difficult to waterproof. If you want to achieve the level of waterproofing, the sprayed coating needs to reach a certain thickness. But even so, the waterproof effect of conformal coating is still very limited.
@@PCBWay I've read info to suggest waterproofing is more for ambient air humidity and moisture, but not for dropping into your bathtub or swimming pool, as the coating is actually semi-permeable so water can still go through the material.
It’s not intended for full submission but proper application can absolutely prevent shorts in the event of a brief submission. If use it properly Silicone Modified Conformal coating can absolutely make R.C., Robotic and other electronics water resistant enough that one can drive through puddles and mud without any damage to their electronics. Make sure it completely coats all of the chips and circuit boards and keep it off of plugs and connections. Apply multiple cuttings and you’ll get great results and an RC that can drive in snow and through puddles all day long. It’s awesome stuff.
@@PCBWayIt’s semantics of course but important semantics! A better word would be water resistant or even water repellent! It’s not intent for full and constant submersion in eater but If applied properly you can absolutely drive an RC vehicle in the rain, puddle mud without frying an expensive speed control or other electronics.

@@karaiwonder Oh snap I just noticed that. I have my system captions on and its a Green text color so it overlays the embedded captions. Speaking of which, embedded captions are kind of a rare bird these days. 🤔 It still surprises me that they're more common on Short format videos. But I can see why that'd be the case though.
