I think we need less games w/farming + combat that are considered "cozy" and more games that have something "different". Maybe from running a lemonade stand, or a flower stand where you can make arrangements. I don't know. I"m not a programmer.
No I agree 100%! That’s why I’m so excited for haunted chocolatier. I am so excited to run a chocolate shop 😭 I totally want more life sim / management games that feel less mobile-ish, if that makes sense.
I've never been good at online multiplayer gamed, they take it too seriously. Cozy games make me feel like I'm good at a game without being overwhelmed. And they just the best way to escape life.
Cozy games, and cozy media in general, have had a huge positive impact on my life. They provide a legitimately relaxing way of winding down when I'm bored. I never got how people "relaxed" by playing stressful, high-energy multi-player games and the like. I find them fun, but definitely not what I need to calm down after a long day or when I'm anxious. I should also note, I've loved cozy things long before they had a term for them, so I'm actually glad it's become a trend so that more things in the genre are made!
I love that for you 🥹 100%, games like splatoon are definitely fun for me, but definitely not what I would play to wind down. Same!! I’ve been playing “cozy” games since I was like 5 or 6 starting with harvest moon back to nature. What cozy games did you start with? ☺️
1) Your accent is adorable. 2) Playing Elden Ring and Final Fantasy XVI on my very comfy sofa, wearing warm, thick, fuzzy socks and an old hoody, while sipping a coffee or hot chocolate, is the definition of cozy. But that's just me. We all like what we like. Happy gaming. This was a fun and informative video.
YES! Cozy is a genre. A feeling you get from a game does not change the genre. I would say if a shooter makes you feel relaxed - it's more a comfort game and not in the genre of cozy gaming. Because overall, any game that is high adrenaline producing, is not cozy! But it can bring you comfort! And that is valid, too!
Great video! I agree with what you said. Cozy gaming to me definitely is more than just your atmosphere, it’s more of a feeling you get from the game of calm and relaxing, taking you out of any stress of the world. 😃
ahhh I totally agree Ash! Before I found the "cozy gaming" community I just imagined all gaming to be stress-inducing. Animal Crossing was literally the only "cozy" game I would play. And then I found Stardew Valley and it opened up a whole gaming genre for me hahaha. Love this vid!
It’s definitely so cool when people discover the cozy gaming genre. 🥹 it’s such a cool, positive community and the games are SO good! Thank you so much for watching! 🩷
Perfect explanation! Cozy gaming is best gaming! Pretty much all of my gaming would be considered cozy :) Come to think of it, all of my other hobbies are cozy, too! To quote Taffy from Ooblets..."Cozy loves cozy"! :D
Can totally relate to everything you said! The first cozy game genre I found was probably HOG point & clicks, for me it's pretty chiil you just go along the story, it's pretty hard to get stuck, and you can skip puzzles you can't seem to get right if you want ^^
Oh my goodness hidden object / point and click games are fabulous. I wish I would’ve known about them earlier! The hidden before time 2 is one of my favorites in that genre. Thank you so much for watching ☺️🩷
Yay! Another video! I am more of an RPG/JRPG and action gamer. However, a fun cozy game is nice to just relax and chill every now and then. Animal Crossing l, Captain Toad, Down In Bermuda, and Pokemon Snap are my main ones. Also looking forward to the Eastward cozy DLC. I have an eclectic collection of games, with a very big backlog. If it looks interesting, with decent to great reviews, I am down to try it!
RPGs are sooooo good. Honestly, I need to find more RPGs that are cozy 👀 I’ve also been playing eastward octopia and without spoiling anything, I highly recommend it. It’s amazing, and I didn’t even play eastward 😂
Cozy gaming truly does help with calming down and helping to get your mind off of things. I’m so glad it’s been helpful to you 🩷 thank you so much for watching! ☺️
Great Video! I purchased the Switch w only cozy gaming in mind. I am enjoying A Little to the Left, Wylde Flowers, Behind the Frame and just ordered An Old Man's Journey - Love artistic art style with great stories!
For me cozy games are low stakes, plate spinning-esque tasks that will always progress or the least won't hinder your progression in the game. Also for me its a vibe thing. I tend to go for stardew valley farm sims but they're not all the same and don't all scratch the same itch. I guess all that is to say cozy games are exactly that, whatever you find cozy!
Oh for sure, farming sims are all completely different! For me nothing compares to stardew valley 🥹 it’s my fave for sure! 🩷 thank you for watching! ☺️
