What is culture? It is the sea of consciousness in which we are living. An everflowing dynamic of respect, trust, dependence and independence, intellect, morals, duty, needs, wants, what makes us human, surely no single mathematical equation or one line philosophy can envelope.

Hi Danny, Sorry to hear about your trouble finding the music. The information I have for it is: composer is Paul Leonard-Morgan, and there are three tracks entitled, "Elegant, Grand & Assured with Pulsing Strings". This is one of them, I believe. Should be on Dewolfe. Good luck!

I have one question and it is connected to CULTURE. Basically, few years ago I was reading a sociologist book and there I found a professional term (which I cannot remember now) for someone who makes conclusions of other culture from the poing of his own culture. Thank you in advance. :)

As an anthropology student I found the video to be extremely helpful in learning about what is culture. The music was moving and at the same time seamed to express the importance of culture in our own lives and to the rest of the world. I would love to know the title and author of the music.

It depends on your definition of race. The old definition was "a group of people with a shared or common ancestral background or culture." African-Americans argue for the existence of race the most, not white people. The definition you give was the old definition for subspecies, which has only been recently fused with the definition of race. That would be like me changing the definition of god to something that actually exists, like the sun. What is not real, is not real, what is real, is real.

Culture is the excuse to build the walls between people. Culture has inherent bigotry, intolerance, and is coupled with unbridled and inflexible religiosity. We put it on a pedestal, and I'm not sure it should be there

I see culture as something that unites people, like fan cultures. To me it seems to go wrong only when one side tries to impose their culture over another, claiming theirs to be superior. Kind of like when rappers and rockers argue which is a better music genre without trying to understand and respect the other culture. If there were no culture at all, we would have neither of the groups along with everything they represent.

As I can imagine we'd agree that culture is the above statements but I'd like to add something else. Culture isn't a monolith and is constantly changing, would you say culture is the result of sexual selection where dominant cultures destroy worse cultures dependant upon the natural resources available and a bunch of other variables. As far as I can tell a culture which doesn't produce a superiority complex would be good however I've yet to see one due to the natural nature of it which I describe above. I would propose that a culture of no culture would be admirable that pattern is some people are dependant and some are independent and while this need to co-operate exists so will culture. In reflection people will only produce culture when together, culture requires unity and dominates socially which is sexual selection (over time). Without culture we wouldn't co-operate, but with it we find ourselves destroying the lesser culture not necessarily a bad thing aside from the moral stand point?

Hisham Lakkis Culture is the programming. I am a programmer. Culture certainly shapes us. But it shapes me less as I become more mature... being my own content provider with my own intentions.
