I find it interesting how they intend for Aaravos to either be seen as a Lucifer figure or a Prometheus figure. From where I stand, if Lucifer and Prometheus are two sides of the same coin, then Aaravos is the Lucifer side and his daughter is the Prometheus side. She was the one to give magic to the humans and she was always kind and loving to them. How she is, she remains imprisoned in the stars with a possibility of potentially being saved. Aaravos, on the other hand, is more like Lucifer. He takes advantage of the fact that his daughter gave humans magic and uses it for his own selfish desires to be free and to corrupt them. Going forward, I can see Aaravos as a vengeful man who would burn down the world to see his daughter safely returned. However, if she is, I could see her being saddened by the fact that he had to destroy everything just for the outcome he wanted. Like Thanos in Infinity War even though HE killed his daughter.

Dark Magic played a part in Callum connecting to a Primal Source, so now he doesn’t a special trinket to cast spells. I still believe that Dark Magic itself isn’t evil but the way Aaravos taught it to Humans, and how later generations learned it is just one way of looking at it. The info they’re lacking and their own selfish intent causing corruption. Honestly I wonder why during the two year time skip, we didn’t get any mention of other Human Mages traveling from all over to learn more about how Callum is able to do magic like Elves can. Or high ranking Elves doing the same.

I recently had a thought about Aaravos. Specifically how he boots people off the census. Save for a few exceptions, Aaravos usually kills people by tricking them into more or less doing it to themselves. On top of that, he also targets a specific type of individual, someone who has power or is in a position of power and possesses a sense of superiority over others. He has a preferred type of victim and method of killing. Aaravos is like a serial killer.

Is this REALLY 100% on Aaravos? Everyone else has free-will and he doesn't control everyone. This kinda reminds of this one theory about why aliens haven't contacted humans: they don't need to destroy us because we're doing that to ourselves,BY ourselves

I think Leola might have created the primal orbs that can allow humans to use magic. Aaravos might be the one who created dark magic considering the story we heard about the story of the unicorn, so I think Leola was Prometheus while Aaravos was Lucifer 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

I find it interesting that Claudia's hair does not grey from the crown of her head but goes grey on one half and retains a dark half... looking like the shield emblem on Katolis' Crown Guard armour. Hmmm.

I really enjoy how the creators explained corruption works. In that it can cause the desires, emotions, and values of the spell caster to be amplified and potentially twisted into something evil. We see this in how Viren and Claudia were once driven by a genuine desire to help and protect their families, and how their indulgence in dark magic turned this into an unhealthy and selfish obsession.

The more I think about it, I feel like Aaravos plan...Not that it doesn't make sense, but it seems to go against everything his daughter would want. I know grief can twist a person, but...if he TRULY loved his child, he'd be helping humanity learn dark magic not to sow discord but to help them. Like his daughter had wanted to do. Then there's the fact that he didn't even die WITH her but left her alone in her most terrifying moments I...I know people find Aaravos' backstory tragic, but to me it just points out his own arrogance and shortcomings. Even as a father.

One thing I always wondered about magic in the Dragon Prince is the cost of casting a spell, with Dark Magic the cost is directly apparent, but are the other types really free or is the cost just much harder to see?

Something tells me that dark magic is the key to kill Aavaros! If that's the case, it would create a pretty huge dilema for Callum.

I have a *very* bad feeling for anyone who used Dark Magic in Xadia in Season 7… especially now that *He* is free.

The way I see it, Aaaravos is both trying to continue his daughters legacy (giving magic to Humans, who where denied by the Star Touched) and exact revenge on those who took his daughter from him (the other Star Touched, the Elves and the Dragons). In this I think Callum being such a powerful mage will become an important piece, perhaps the most important piece as he is already the first true Human mage and Aaaravos has shown a desire to control him. Ultimately I think the plan is to kill the other Star Touched, just as they killed his daughter, but for that Dark Magic is essential, but it may also require someone who can tap into magic itself and is not fully broken. Thus while Claudia is essential for Aaaravos return, Callum may become the instrument of his eventual revenge.

I hate that the seasons are so short now I have to wait a whole year probably for the next season to be hyped

I'll be mad if we don't get an epic mage duel between Callum and Aaravos at the end, even if Callum loses. Just imagine when the last option is Dark magic and it's starts being actually "Kid Gloves off".

I don't think that text refered to Leola when stating "unicorns" for three reasons: simce the text is signed by Aaravos, referring to his child as plural would be a lie (it is only one person, not two or more), and because right after that it tells how the elves warned the unicorns (I dont see the elves coming together to warn Leola, probably because they didn't even know about her intended "crime")and because the incoming unicorn genocide wouldn't be as relevant if those weren't the merciful beings that had given humans magic. And I do think that Aaravos is some kind of benefactor for humanity, he didn't thought twice to mass-murder the elves of Lux Aurea, but when attacking Katolis he didn't touch the civilian population, just the castle. Also, he seems to be able to control people for extended periods of time, like he did with that elve mounting on Sol Regem, then, why didn't he directly control Viren or Claudia to ensure a smother development of events, he may just consider humans worthy of his trust. Also, Claudia is the best, f*** the elves and dragons. And Justice for Elarion ✊

Dark Magic is Aaravos and I mean that literally. As he seem to be the equivalent of the primal sources seeing as how he easily take over those that practice it just a little like Callum. The reason Dark Magic is evil is not because it is dark magic, but instead it is evil because unlike other magic that seem to be filled with love from nature. Dark Magic seem to be filled with hatred for nature likely as a result of Aaravos own hatred toward those connected to nature like elves and dragon. Therefore the corruption of dark magic seem to be the corruption of nature by Aaravos own hatred.

Their a old theory that what we know as Dark Magic is simply a distorted bastardization of a different kind of magic, probably why Aaravous is able to manipulated humans that does it. Like if their a way to manipulated dark magic user, then should it be that dark magic user eventually figure out that they are able to manipulated other dark magic user though dark magic? Like they did mention everything is star dust and as a star elves he should be able to manipulate stuff related to star.

Death is a part of life, though. Dark magic does seem to be a mostly corrupting and negative force, but I’m not sure if it’s supposed to be all negative. Whenever a person first uses dark magic, they enter a coma. This happens to both Callum and Viren, though in Callum’s case, he was able to connect to the Sky arcanum. That makes me wonder if dark magic is supposed to serve as a bridge that would allow humans to connect to the other arcanum, and perhaps all of the arcanum. Which might make some sense, as it seems that strange that humans are the only sentient/sapient creatures that aren’t naturally connected to all of the arcanum - it might be that through a bridge like dark magic, they are actually supposed connect to all of the arcanum. Callum was able to do so because he really wanted it, and was disturbed enough by dark magic that he didn’t simply stop at wanting to use dark magic but instead continued to reach for Sky magic. Other humans stopped at dark magic and never considered trying to reach for any of the arcanum, because why would they? They’ve been told non-stop that humans cannot use magic. “Dark” magic might also be something different in nature than what we’ve seen and been told. Aaravos supposedly gave humans the knowledge and gift of dark magic, but it’s clear that while Aaravos doesn’t lie, he gives half-truths, or says the truth in a way that is deliberately misleading. It might be that Leola gave the full truth of magic to humans, and the dark magic that Aaravos gave to humanity is only a half truth. There was another comment that mentioned dark magic might merely be one part of the whole, and should perhaps be considered less dark magic and more “life” magic. It also might be that there is deep magic that is even greater than the six arcanum, and dark magic is a part of it. Who knows, but I do think the show is pointing toward something a little different than just dark magic = bad. Or at least, I hope so.

I think this is a spirit bending moment “it was mentioned in passing so we all know I’ll be a ok!” Type deal. Doesn’t feel like chekov’s gun and it would kinda shoot the story in the foot to take those lines in my opinion.

1. Star arcanum spell to release a person from the magic prison needs ingredients, as well as Deep Magic spell 'Blood of Child'. Maybe, Aaravos created a new quasi-arcanum based on what was related to him the most? 2. Does anybody see parallels between Aaravos and Sargeras from "Warcraft"? Like, both of them are beings related to stars, who betrayed/left their group, then created a dark magic that uses lifeforce and allows to posses a user, master manipulators, and finally was trapped by a female human mage. 3. Does anybody have vibes of TDP fic "The White Mage"? There are TOO MANY coincidences, such as Quasar Diamond in Ziard's Staff, the purpose of the Cube, and Sol Regem alliance with Karim and destruction of Katolis.

I contend that perhaps dark magic is a method to bring his daughter back. Only humans can do dark magic, which makes them unique, so he set about corrupting them.

Dark magic is simply: "The forcefull activation of potential futures and evolutions, sacrifycing life to achieve this" think of it as "Controlled entropy" It is a form of magic that's just an "easy path to ones own desire", and that kind of power tends to corrupt with absolute certanty

I see Aaravos more as a Lucifer, Leola I think would be more Promethius in this case. I’ve always felt that Callum would end up being the human that’s able to change things for other humans and magic, since he’s proof that humans can learn it. ( and the creators have confirmed that dark magic isn’t required for a human to make a connection, but it can help) I sorta feel like I’m in the minority with this opinion, but I actually don’t think Callum will do dark magic in season 7. Yeah it could be good and I could change my mind if it was done well, but it just feels like it would be going backwards. Why have an arc where he’s purified at all if we’re just gonna have him slip again? It would also add more to the “humans aren’t ready for magic”, because even the one human to learn primal magic in centuries can’t stay away from it. I think Kosmo’s warning is meant to make us worry for Callum, and to think he’ll do it again..only to give us a situation where we think he might..and then he doesn’t. Anyway…Great video as always!

Something in me feels like the part of them they give up when using dark magic is a part of Aaravo's daughter who maybe gave part of her self to humans to teach them magic. In similar way to how Sofia of gnostic belief is in every human.

Actually I am not Convinced Callum is the primary Focus about the next Season in Terms of Dark Magic. I think that is Claudia. The Next Season is about Dark Magic, I mean Claudia was able to do the same Magic as Callum so I think it is possible that they will resurrect Claudia who makes the ultimate Sacrifice to safe her Brother and her Mother. We know Viren and his Wife were divorced the Reason for this Divorce was introduced to us this Season and also the Fact that both Soren and Claudia don't know where her Mother is now. I think it is possible that Their Mother comes back and Claudia is the one to make the ultimate Sacrifice, maybe to remind Aaravos why he started to do what he did. Terry also says: It started with Love, but now it is revenge. I don't know I think that way it would fill more Episodes than just Callum again falling to Dark Magic AGAIN.

I'm not sure it's right to call it DARK magic. It seems more like it's transferring or altering energy inside the physical body. So, LIFE or PURE ENERGY magic would be more accurate. Like FEL energy from WoW, but depending on WHAT you rake the energy FROM, you can get various different results.

It's pretty obvious that Aaravos is doing what he's doing because he wants to take revenge for losing his daughter. We can understand where he's coming from but ultimately we grow to despise him because he has lost his way and his love for his daughter has become twisted.

Here’s my theory. In the flashback where Leola is a baby we see Aaravos with white eyes and a lit up star on his chest like other startouch elves. Before leola gets taken to her trial we see his eyes have turned dark but his star on his chest is still lit and stays that way until the scene where he is crying and making the ocean. I think that aaravos did something between the time leola was born and her trial that started the events of the story. I think it was mentioned somewhere that startouch elves loose their “glow” when they fall from grace. Which aaravos seems to have done in that timeframe. What he could have done to change his eyes from light to dark is a mystery but it definitely happened before leola was killed and after her birth. He is definitely leaving some things out and telling white lies. For what reason I don’t know, but I think leola dying might be part of his plan for some reason.

You know it'd be interesting if he found out he couldn't eat without being consumed by darkness putting them on a time limit to find a proper solution.

I'm theorizing that dark magic will be explained as being something similar to fel magic from warcraft, just pure chaotic energy that destroys and corrupts its user

I think it's possible that they'll somehow revive Leola at the end.

I have a few questions that I hope gets answered in the next season. According to the Celestial elves, you can't truly kill a Startouched elf, since they can remanifest when their stars align. That's why Aaravos had to be imprisoned. So what, exactly, did the other Startouched elves do to his daughter? She was engulfed by light and crashed into the planet, a literal "fallen star" but what does that mean? Is she perma-dead? Can a Startouched only be killed another Startouched? Can Aaravos somehow resurrect his daughter? Personally, I'm hoping that it's revealed that the quasar diamonds are what's leftover from a "fallen" Startouched elf. It would make sense, seeing as how they're made of stardust and that there were only three in existence. Not to mention Aaravos's contingency. It would make sense for him to have one embedded in the staff he created...he would've picked it out of the crater. The one he filled with his tears and was then imprisoned under.

Hey, I never saw the show quick thing. Darkness doesn’t really exist. It’s just the absence of light. However, it’s also the thing that was kind of in the beginning before there was light there was darkness. Maybe just hear me out darkness is like primal magic super dangerous super nasty super volatile. Are we just know that we are wacky bit. I think dark magic is a Corruption of Mankind's real magic. Love Magic. When he was telling Claudia how to revive her father required 7 simple ingredients. He wouldn't need a detail explaining what each and every single type except the gem of pure Stardust. I'm getting explanation that everything is made from Stardust and love. And that dark magic spells are just reversed words, when Viren was sacrificing himself and focused purely on his heart a new symbol appeared and his words became unreversed, this could be symbolic about dark magic is just an inverted heart taking Magic from others instead of it being given freely.

I have one small therory, what if dark magic have arcanum but it became corrupted by aaravos then he gave knowledge to humans? In the end of his life Viren seems like aquired true meaning of arcanum and i think is about love and self sacrifice, or even love itself is and primal source

I know after season 7 is over we are getting the third and final part of saga which will be 3 seasons and more than likely we will see callum and rayla being married in this 3 saga and it won't be just wedding in the next saga more adventures and more I know rayla won't kill off callum she already lost him when she left for 2 years and the Thought of killing her boyfriend and future husband is going make her super sad so yeah that's mine thoughts on this and I know I am right

Specially seeing how there are probably 2 a 3 seasons more to come, Im sure Callum is going to use dark magic again and get corrupted. We need that conflict haha. I like the way Lucifer and Prometheus are pulled in to it. Both are what the humans need. Sometimes you need to make a sacifice to get where you need to be. You need to make mistakes. What is a mistake? Was it a mistake that Prometheus gave people fire? The answer is yes and no, it differents who you ask. Ask the gods? Its a mistake, ask the humans? It's not a mistake. Aaravos and his daughter are mysterious. Now its the question where will it end?

Seems to me like everyone is trying to put only Aaravos in the preverbal mythology box. I think you’re really close to hitting the nail on the head. Leola is the Prometheus figure and Aaravos is Lucifarian. Leola shows humans magic = giving them fire, and she is punished for it. Aaravos manipulates that knowledge into dark magic to further manipulate humans for his own goal of chaos and revenge making him the great deceiver aka the enemy aka the devil etc etc. It’s a kids show at its core, so it has to follow certain rules and some of those rules are yes you can make your hero’s struggle with choices and yes you can make your villains morally tough but because it’s angled at kids the overarching themes and actions have to come to their expected resolution. Meaning since Aaravos has been painted as a villain for so long and has done and asked such horrible things to humanity via Viren’s family it is extremely unlikely that he’ll have some sort of redemption to his storyline with the elves becoming wiser and accepting humans as worthy of magic. That’ll most likely come from ezran as he’s been painted as a Uniter these past few seasons.

They way i see it dark magic is kinda like steroids. The reason why it's not something you need to survive and the more you use it, the more addictive it becomes and changes you physically and mentally. Drugs do kill you over time to but there are other stories where drugs can also extend life. So maybe not steroids as an example but drugs as a general example.

Humans are the most numerous Race all across the Multiverses, even more numerous than The Zarvanian, Zephoan, and Sidusian Races all Combined. Humans are blessed by God, for they were made in his image, and it is God who sent his son Jesus Christ to die on the cross to pay for the sins of Humanity, and then to rise again on the third day to show humanity that He is God. Humans were always meant to be the most numerous beings of all the Multiverses, for it is us in the First Reality, the True Reality, who make it so, because God has blessed us with our Imagination and our creativity.
