Thank you, Rinpoche, for this clarification. We recently had a conversation that was a little like the story of Atisha Dipankara. I now realise that Dharma Practice is actually a 24-hour activity, living life with awareness, and not just in sitting meditation, study, prayers, reciting mantras etc. I am also becoming aware of what a wonderful thing this human life is!
Yes again, now I understand better...Dharmapractice is becoming peaceful, skillful, compassionate, wise, helpful. thank you. Need to apply this...whatever...need to purify...and accumulate...positive deeds...many. yes.
In brief, working on your own feeling, thinking, perception, realising and removing negative emotions and negative reactions in your daily life is the core Dharma Practice. Thank you so much, Master :)))
He has better command of English than most English people. On the point of ''negative'' emotions I tend to disagree. Whilst there are uncomfortable and unpleasant emotions, I do not believe any emotion is negative per se. E-motion is energy in motion and exists for a reason. For example if I witness violence then I may feel angry. Is that negative? No! It's appropriate and the energy of anger may motivate constructive action. So calling anything negative is a judgement, which often leads to supression. I see many religious monks/nuns who are good at giving lectures, but when alone behave unacceptably. This is because they repress their honest emotions, to be good buddhists. But those emotions come out when they think it doesn't matter.
if one informs oneself on the Buddha's teachings of the second turning of the wheel, what he says becomes evident. in the first turning-teachings the aim of an entity getting out of problems is taught. in the second turning the hangup on an entity that's get somewhere is left and duality is calmed down. just an understanding :)
