What is 'direct mount' and what if I don't need it or don't have a compatible hangar?
Spoiler alert: you have to accept Shimano's rig-job.
I want to be very clear about something I skipped over in the video:
Direct mount doesn't just move the derrelaiur back, but it moves it out too. This is why you are stuck with the e-link. Removing the e-link would move the mech way too close in to the cassette and it won't work.
