I think couple counselling would have made this work coz there how to repair conflicts is being taught , the underlying deep emotions of not feeling seen heard understood is communicated well , we literally have not been taught relational skills , so no problem learning them through an expert. Knowing each others attachment style and knowing how to repair conflicts through an expert is very important. It's good that couple counselling is picking up in India. Relationship are childhood enactments , the more a couple understand and it's better as they can be self aware and keep their ego aside to see their own patterns. As far as kids is concerned , kids should not be kept away from conflict at home but kids should see better way of conflict repair and argument resolution between parents , now high level emotional maturity skills none of us were taught , so therapists help here. Everyone should be given relational emotional conflict resolution skills in schools. Hope this will be reality someday.

Being a parent of 2 Y old I can say there might be lot of changes that comes in with a baby but it shouldn't break a home. Hope you both still talk and clear things.
