@@student6634 I know DG set and transformer are 2 different things. But on ship first power will be generated. After that generated power at particular voltage will be step down accordingly. You can search google to know more.

@@MSeriesByMANISHGupta why we need high voltage? Because increased voltage save us power loss during transmission of power through high distance. There is no high distance in cruise ships. Plus we generate 415 voltage in DG not 11kv or 66kv. What should we do with this 11kv if we can't use it?

@@student6634 My dear friend I want to tell you through a practical example. ➡️ If the cruise ship is huge and large then it’s power requirement will be more. ➡️ Let suppose the electric load of ship is 800 KW and you are using 1000 kVA DG Set at Three Phase 415 Volt level. It means current will be 1391.25 Ampere. DG Set will be very very costly to handle such amount of large current as winding and cable requirement will also be thick according to 1391.25 Ampere. ➡️ Also voltage drop is more in 415 volt at very small distance even at 100 meters. ➡️ But if you use DG Set at 11 KV then current will be 52.48 Ampere at full load. Here current is less. Therefore winding thickness will be less and cable thickness will also be less. And after generation you can step down at different voltage level and supply particular load. ➡️ I have given an example through my knowledge. The electric load may be much greater than this. ➡️ I hope you will understand this. We always see efficiency and cost at optimum point. Thanks for asking this question! 🙂

Normally oil filled transformer me oil as an insulator and cooling medium use hota hai. Here oil is a liquid medium. Jabki dry cast resin transformer me dry insulation ka use hota hai. Here cast resin is a dry.

Ye depend karta hai transformer ke load and weather condition par. Jaise aajkal sardiyo ka time chal raha hai and load bhi comparatively kam hai to temperature 40-42 degree celsius chal raha hai.

Hysteresis loss kam karne ke liye CRGO core material ka use kiya jata hai. Eddy current loss ko kam karne ke liye laminated core sheets ka use hota hai.
