Saving the settings in camera is awesome. Makes this viable for corporate work Laptops where you can't install any software. You should market it like that more.

I heard the software is awesome, and the camera remembers it so I don't have to run it while i am zooming. i am so glad this is manual focus. i just got to the part where you told me not to get it if i am teaching in a big room. The problem with camlink is that you get all the extra junk on you DSLR's screen and the FOV is not good. It also makes my zoom unresponsive and i have to cancel the meeting. You also mentioned Epoccam, which has latency issues, in my experience, and so i cannot use it to zoom teach a dance class, either. Still searching. Thank you for your honesty here.
The new insta 360 link webcam will blow this out of water.. sorry.. but thanks for thinking of improving this space.. in the age of great smartphone cameras.... was the webcam industry sleeping... Elgato.. don't give up.. fight it out..
I bought the Facecam a 2 days ago the hardware is great, the Camera Hub software sucks, it's still installing as I type this on MacOS Monterey it's been 2 days waiting for installation to complete, looks like it went on a infinite loop for hours
I love stream but getting everything to work blows past me and I don't know anyone to help. but I wish I had this face cam and new how to set it up is stream labs.
just bought 2 facecam's so I can connect to my mackbook pro, my intention was to have the built in camera as cam 1, and my new facecams for cam 2 and cam 3 for scene switching, I am using OBS, so I set up my streamdeck with three buttons for all 3 cameras, then when I connected the 3 facecam it pixilated and froze the screen, SO after buying elgato facecams that come with type C to USB CABLES, I NOW FIND THAT THE CAN LINK PRO IS ONLY MADE FOR A DESKTOP COMPUTER, And needs typeC to HDMI !!! SO what's the solution for running more than 1 facecam on a macbook ????????????????????
Cord isn’t long enough, shoulda made it 10foot braided. Every replacement I’ve ordered isn’t compatible so I’m stuck with a cord that swings over my set up
I think £190 is steep. Don’t get me wrong it looks awesome on paper but there’s web cams out there that achieve low latency 1080 60 for lower price (admittedly not many). I’m gonna contemplate getting one if nothing else but to test it and review it but still🤷🏻♂️ I dunno. The pricing of this and the LP mic arm just make them unappealing to me and a good majority of my streaming group
why? Twitch doesnt have 4k support, It would hardly be noticeable. unless you need it for youtube vids, then Maybe they'll come with it next year or so.
mhh, not sure why it does not have adjustable focus or aperture. I would like to have the possibility to use something like f8.0 instead of f2.4, If I have a proper setup with a good setup for light, I see no reason to use f2.4, or I guess its cool to have like a blurry background, but I would like to have the choice.
I love this! But I have one question. For those of us who use 2 cameras for unboxing videos, can you still have 2 of these hooked up without messing up the camera hub and can switch between them to toggle and tweak settings in the hub???
Just came from the XLR Wave video to this is and you can clearly see the difference between a webcam and an actual camera with a bigger sensor. Honestly, if you're really serious about streaming and making content..save up for a mirrorless camera.
I sold my Sony A5100 because it’s overkill on twitch anyways, I don’t regret it. 1080p 60 is the max for twitch so selling the camera and wide lens paid for the boom arm and webcam with a couple hundred to throw back into my stream.
@@zeromav2268 it’s not that noticeable of a difference at all for what it’s used for. I’m not making 4K RU-vid videos, so hell ya I’ll take that extra money. $200 for a camera that’s exactly made for streaming or a $700 photography camera that I can’t even get my money’s worth because Twitch doesn’t even support anything higher then 1080p 60fps… I’ll sleep at night just fine.
@@jugglaassassin It wasn't worth the downgrade, but if you're happy, then when does it matter? I wouldn't have done it. I wish Elgato had pushed a bit further on the facecam and just increased the price.
New question! I get my features to how I want them and click the save. Turn my comp off when done using it, turn it on the next day...everything reset...and have to refenagle. I thought saving it saved to the camera so it will stay like that..orrrr, is there a file I have to select that brings it back.
@@elgato Nah, it's ok. I'm just going to wait until the Facecam is more user friendly in stream deck and create different multi actions for the different settings I set my camera up for different things. You have a good portion of the settings in there...but not all of them. Would be nice if they were in it too.
It's a USB webcam. If you want 4K plenty of DSLR options. If you want to future proof you can go 8K. But that's going to cost $1,000s of dollars. This is $200 and a completely different market.
