This is cool Epazote in Jamaica is called Semi-contra (botanical name). It is used as a tea to address gastrointestinal problems such as worms/parasites.
also the epazote is pretty good in chilaquiles, that are another mexican recipe, that are just fried tortilla chips in tomate sauce with epazote and for toppings you can add cheese and cream
You made it perfect! a tip, here where i live we use chicken stock to boil it, usually chicken feet and small wings and necks (they are cheaper and have a lot of flavor) There is a woman near my house that makes a salsa with peanut and spices, fits well! congratulations (:
Would it be safe for my bunny to eat while cooking with this ingredient I dropped a few leaf's and my bunny ate it up quickly he likes it and since its so healthy for us i was hoping it would be good for the bun bun since now I see he likes it maybe I can add some to his diet but i cant seem to get an answer
hey daniel, what knife is that you're using? i'm a new subscriber btw. it's got a nice hammered textured finish, is it also damascus clad? nice and polished too. what brand is it? i'd love to have one myself.
You should do a wtf on Escarole! my cousin makes this great Italian greens recipe with it, but i'm curious about some more outlandish applications for it. The view count of these videos does not reflect their quality. keep up what you're doing.
I live in south Texas, my first experience with this dish(off a good cart) features roasted corn, no liquid..dollop of Mexican crema, mayo, lime, parmesan& chili... Unbelievable!
Esquites Dan, really? That's your favorite street food? Its got to be "meat in tube form" for me. Epazote is is okay to me, I find it to be a little too medicinal for my liking, maybe I have just had it at places that were a little too heavy handed with it, but maybe its just not savory enough. As for my favorite Mexican herb, I would say Lamb's Quarter ranks pretty high up there. It too is a pre-Spanish herb. I like it in simple stir fry's and stews.
