Great explanation! I've recently been given a diagnosis of ET JAK2 Positive. My platelet count is currently 460. I'm prescribed asperin & having my bloods monitored every 3 months. I'm having little headaches now & again & itchy skin at times.
Wow... Glad I found this. It really explains it better. My platelets where at 1.3 million, they're down to just under 700,000 now with two hydroxyurea a day. But my family doctor is just now getting ready to have my spleen ultrasound because my left side has HURT for several years and she'd been dismissing it as 'gas'. Not real sure they can do anything to make it stop hurting but at least when people are looking at me funny I wont have to say, "it's just gas"....lol
My daughter has this and her platelets are at 1.2M. She’s only 23. If you don’t mind answering, please tell me if you took 2 each 500mg Hydrea pills. That is the recommendation for her but I’m worried of the long term effect.
@@susiervelez7463 I'm happy to say my ET is cured and gone. This post was older. Have your daughter look into keto, just click my name. I had 30 medically diagnosed diseases and all of them are gone.
KETO Diamond Channel. Hello, my current platelet count is 1,616,000. Doctor said i should take Anagrelide and then have a Jak2 Mutation Blood test. How did you manage your case? Please please share. Thank you. 🙏
I have been dealing with Essential Thrombocythemia since 2010. I love this video it really explains and breaks down what going on in the body with having a high platelet count. Thank You!!!!
No One Can you talk a little bit about your experience? llifestyle and how you controll it? its been 5 years now! what doctors say and how often you visiti them
I was diagnosed with this in 2005, back then there was very little information about it, this video is great. For ten years I have taken a cardio aspirin a day and get my blood tested every two months. My platelet count was pretty stable (always under 1,000) until this May when for some unexplained reason it shot up to 1,682 and white cells increased to 18. The tingling burning in my fingers and toes got quite painful. I moved on to two aspirins a day plus two Litalir capsules and after a few weeks it's down to 650 and white cells at 13. I had a marrow biopsy and all good there. Would love to know why the platelets suddenly shot up so much.
Indi Viksorry to ask you how old were you in back in 2005? one of my friend diagnosed with it three days ago. I have no hope it will get better. How was your experience? if you share with me, I would love to hear it.
I understood this much about my problem, but am treated with anagrelide, for 12+ years now. Going to keep looking for more technical data to be sure I"m managing correctly. Thanks!
@@Ss-on2ej I think your oncologist or hematologist would not have prescribed it if it wasn’t safe for you. I’m not a doctor. I’ve been taking it for 17 years; my dose has gone from 1 mg to 1.5 a day since then to stay under 400. There are no other like-action medicines available. It works to reduce the formation of platelets in the bone marrow.
Is anyone else with ET experiencing bone and joint pain? Asking for my better half who is in tremendous health if it wasn't for ET and bone pain she is experiencing.
Very interesting now i know more about my E.T. i like to know as much as possible about my condition and i thank you for all you do in keeping us informed. Maggie Marson
Great video but the only way to diagnose E.T. is with a Bone marrow biopsy and aspartate. Definitely be aware this is 4 and a half years old. It has since been retermed as MPN's (neoplasm not disorder).
@@reinejin7643 thanks for your reply _ that’s awesome that you are negative & praise & thanks to God for that. Unfortunately I have tested JAK2 positive but my platelets are around 460 which is just above normal range; so the doctor is monitoring my bloods every 3 months!
