I really appreciate your efforts to film this, because it is obvious that filming and vlogging in front of the people who you just met can be pretty uncomfortable. You try hard for this channel. Always supporting you. Lots of love💞
the sensation in your ear is probably from the loud music which slowly fixes itself so don't worry about that and it's good to go out of clubs to give your ears a break as well to cool down. this video was a lovely surprise :) x
I’ve been looking forward to this! Sent off my application to Oxford (and all my other unis) yesterday so I’m just going to obsess over my favourite youtubers’ uni vlogs
Elena Johansson I applied for Chemistry. Sent my application to my sixth form a few weeks ago but they were sorting everything out (predicted grades, references etc). What about you?
Bookloverlolly yes the whole process was so stressfull like I am honestly so relieved that everything is sent off now! I applied for History and Economics :)
@@harrisonachunche4098 Bullshit because they consider where you are from, they value A levels. They even say they do not use GCSE grades as a determining factor. They consider it based on its merit but it's not the deciding factor what gets you in or not.
Ellie Nixon honestly it's never too early to be looking round, if you want to apply to Oxbridge you'll need to be doing it by this time next year anyway which sounds like plenty of time but trust me it'll fly by😂
Kd Unicorn yeh I thought looking at a couple now would give me a good start. Not gonna look at oxbridge as I don’t feel it would be the right environment for me but I have started thinking about what unis I wanna go and look at
Looks great! Hopefully I can join you in Oxford next year! ;) I applied for English at Trinity last weekend and I'm anxiously preparing for my ELAT. Enjoy this year - I'm sure it'll be great!
Don’t worry Beatriz, you’ll find your own group of friends. From my experience a lot of people I met and became friendly with in the first few weeks of uni weren’t my closest friends by the end of the first year x
What's the song you've put over the sped up bits?! I'm loving watching these videos. I just graduated uni and this is making me miss it so much hahaha x
how is the diversity at oxford? this sounds rude and i’m not trying to be but there didn’t seem to be many ethnic minorities in this vlog and me being one it would make me slightly wary of applying being in that type of environment before. or is it just your college? idk but it just didn’t seem very diverse
I don't think one video shorter than 25 minutes is particularly representative of a whole university. However, if you google it there's probably some stats? I know there's definitely some stats on private/comprehensive
Often these people meet the standard because their family have supported them their whole life, probably private/grammar educated or at least a good comprehensive. Often, minorities will not get that opportunity. Similarly, working class won't. They may be quite capable but their grades will be a bit lower due to less pressure on studying as family doesn't see it as important or the local school sucks. And often, those who do make the standard outright will choose a non-Oxbridge uni because it looks more fun and they will fit in more. There needs to be a bit of pull. The questions in the interviews are not very hard (at least not at first until they are pushing you, by whch point they already know you're good enough anyway), so it's all about the grades and that is heavily dependent on the school you went to, rather than your ability. I think Oxbridge is more of a test of how hard you're willing to work, rather than how intelligent you are... and quite often grades demonstrate hard work and to a lesser extent, intelligence.
I have always wanted to go to oxford but I don’t know if I’m going to pass my interview or even get good enough grades.. STUDYING TIME. Also love all ur vids and I’m definitely gonna do the summer stuff (unique, i think you said it was?) I love u and all ur vids!
