What is going on at RCR?! This is a question that seriously needs to be asked after the frankly unprofessional showing by Richard Childress, Austin Hill, and Andy Petree of Richard Childress Racing had at the Martinsville Speedway. While being a race for the NASCAR Xfinity Series title and having the emotion with it the look for the team is one of toxicity. So let's look at what is basically a witch hunt of Sheldon Creed.

I'm in a community with a bunch of Kligerman fans and they're glad to see this guy leave RCR, he's been on their hit list since the wreck at Daytona. I’m 100% on Sheldon Creeds side. Lost a ton of respect for RC and Andy Petree tonight putting a driver on blast publicly like they did. As for Austin Hill like brother threw a shit fit just because he was getting raced hard when in reality if he backs off and they finish 1-2 and they both advance regardless, seemed like he just expected Creed to roll over for him and give up his own chance to make it to the round of 4. just hope they don’t do the same thing with a talent like Jesse Love even though they definitely will, and god I hope Sheldon dominates at JGR.

I've always liked Creed, and tonight he just gained a lot of new fans. Props to Hill for announcing that Creed will be at JGR next year. 😂 He will be in a better ride next year and will most likely have a better showing than Hill. Also, if it was truly about the team, Hill would have backed off, let Creed win, and both of them would be in the final 4. I have no idea what Andy and Richard are so upset about. Edit: It's been brought to many people's attention, including my own, that if Hill would have finished 2nd he would have been one point shy. Okay fine, but Creed still didn't do anything wrong. Creed in my opinion did nothing wrong. Creed used a bumper in the sport and a track where it's talked greatly to use the bumper. He never clean him out just gave him a nudge. The only thing he did wrong was park it on the top because he over drove the corner trying to out break the 21. They both have the right to be mad at each other but neither is in the wrong. RCR has pointed the blame on a person they openly dislike. Creed at least publicly never hated it or disrespected his team or his organization. Idk if you can classify what Hill and Childress said as a "heat of the moment" deal. That's about as unprofessional as it gets. And tbh, blatant examples of favoritism like this are why RCR has been a mid organization for the last decade. And really, throughout the last two years, it felt like Hill was a much higher priority in RCR than Creed--even more so now, with the extension that Hill signed to stay with the team. It just really makes you wonder about the backstage politics that be taking place in that facility. We know RC will move heaven and earth to give his grandsons every opportunity possible to succeed, but that hasn't exactly panned out. And there's been several stories of how he heavily favored Dale over his other drivers, too. And I'm willing to bet that Reddick was treated like a second fiddle to Austin Dillon throughout his time at RCR, and that was further exacerbated by the lame duck situation last year. Now Hill does have a right to be upset to a certain extent, but it ain't like Creed just punted him on the last lap like Ty did to Brandon Jones last year. (And I know we get on Coach for the favoritism he has shown his grandson, but even he scolded Ty very heavily afterwards.) Creed was in a must win situation, so you can't blame him for doing everything he can to advance to the Championship 4. And it shouldn't matter which RCR Chevy makes it, so long as the team in general brings back the Xfinity title...but they made it clear as day that they were putting all their eggs into Hill's basket. Nonetheless, I'm kinda glad that Creed is gonna get out of that situation very soon.

Sheldon Creed did absolutely nothing wrong with the way he raced Austin Hill, he was going for a championship 4 spot to possibly win a championship when a lot of people in the xfinity series don't even make it to the playoffs. He didn't wreck Austin Hill, He bumped Hill into 3 and 4 but Hill was still leading at the white flag and he bumped him again but never once did he wreck him like Ty Gibbs did Brandon Jones. I know he and Austin are both not going to the championship 4 but he was trying to do what he needed to do to have a shot at a championship and quite frankly we all know if Austin Hill were to do that to him that there wouldn't be any type of conflict over it. I just can't believe the amount of people including Richard Childress blaming him for this even calling him "Stupid" it's absolutely ridiculous because he's trying to do the best he can for him and his team and he gets shamed on for it, and he handled it so professionally in his interview. Sheldon Creed is a class act and any team should be proud to have him because he shows that he has heart and determination to do the best he can and that's all that should matter. Anybody who blames him for trying to win that race in the position that he was in is a fucking fool because he could've wrecked Austin Hill and won that race and advanced to the championship 4 but he didn't because he has respect and he's definitely earned my respect with how he handled the whole situation, from the interview after the race even saying that he thanks Richard Childress for everything he did for him for those 2 years he was with them to the encounter with Andy Petree when he stood up for himself, I hope that man succeeds in his racing career and proves to the fools that he is not "Stupid".

When Austin Hill said he can’t wait for Creed to go to JGR so he doesn’t have to put up with his shit anymore, sure you won’t have to because he’ll be in better equipment and drive circles around him. And I say that because in the case of Harvick and Reddick, they both left sub-par equipment at RCR for better opportunities. Harvick finally won a championship and Reddick has a chance to be in the championship four. For Creed, Joe Gibbs dominates the Xfinity series, so I’m sure Creed can’t wait to leave RCR too 😂

Exactly my thoughts as well. If anything comes from this spat, is that RC seems to be allowing this nonsense to grow. This year alone Hendrick (Larson and Elliott), Kaulig (Haley at Atlanta), and JR motorsports (too many to count) have dealt with these issues, but at no point did those in charge throw anyone under the bus, and if any crew drivers started to, they were very quiet the day afterwards. The curse of a family businesses, as I view RCR, is poorly veiled favoritism. You become friends or family of the boss? You can get what you want and get away with anything. This is a RC issue, and as long as he continues to operate this way he does this nonsense will continue.

This was the nightmare scenario at the end of the race for RCR on track. Off track, RCR is a disaster, in my opinion. The more I see, the better Creed is looking. Think about what Petree and Childress are basically saying. They're upset at Creed for racing...in a race. And not just a race, but a race Creed needed to win to be eligible for the championship. Of course, you don't want teammates to take each other out. Creed makes for an easy target since he's leaving. But he did what he had to do, not just for himself, but also for the 2 team. First off, Hill botched that restart and then over drove the corner slamming into Creed to keep his track position. It's understandable that Creed felt like that gave him permission to move Hill, and he moved him just a little bit. The TV guys even said he didn't move him enough. It was a lot better than Gibbs dumping Jones last year. Hill can act like he didn't have a chance, but he totally did. Creed could have cleaned him out a couple of times. And I saw someone else point out that the 21 team didn't do their job if they lost track of where Custer was running and where Hill needed to be. It was going to be a close call is he finished second, but I think Hill would have made it through. I also suspect they'd be pissed at Creed is he didn't go for it, looking at it as him not being aggressive enough for the series. I can't say I've heard anyone with a bad thing to say about Creed, and he seems respected. He also seems to race with respect. I get the impression that RCR wants a fiery, bull-in-a-china-shop approach. I think it's pretty telling if Gibbs approached Creed to take over one of their available rides. After this, looking back on the season, and I feel like there likely has been a lot of frustration for Creed that has built up, and I'm inclined to believe him. I thought he got treated poorly on that Bristol deal when Hill was a lane off the wall where nobody was running coming out of a turn. Creed had no reason to expect him to run a whole lane or more below the preferred line. If there is preferential treatment within RCR that extends to how the cars are prepared, then that's a testament to Creed's ability to contend as much as he has, especially in the last couple of months. If it wasn't clear before, Creed made the right choice getting out. And since we're talking about how unprofessional this was by RCR, let's remember their reaction to Tyler Reddick leaving was pretty bad too.

Maybe Creed is an asshole and nobody likes him, idk. But as far as I can see, he’s been treated like a stepchild compared to Hill who might as well be a Dillon at this point and yet Creed seems to handle all this crap like a man. It’s really pretty impressive since he seems to be surrounded at RCR by a bunch of toxic yes men who all agree that the company goal is to help Hill win at all costs. I hope they informed Jesse Love that his job at RCR will be the Cal Naughton role as in “if you win, then how is Austin gonna win?”

@gianni4925 11 месяцев назад
Sheldon Creed didn’t do anything wrong, he was just fighting to win for a championship. Austin Hill was the one causing all the trouble, especially with those door slams making it very obvious. Had Austin let off, he could’ve finished 2nd and both would’ve made the championship race. As for RCR as a whole, this pretty much exposed whatever the fans needed to know. What I’ve been thinking since last year feels like RC doesn’t want Creed to succeed because of how he races, he doesn’t want Creed to be super aggressive fighting for position, but RC, that’s how Dale Sr., the driver that’s synonymous with your team’s legacy, raced throughout his career. For Austin, I feel like his attitude recently stemmed from when he was at Hattori Racing in the Truck Series, which at the time was a one-truck team. Now he needs to understand and respect that not everything should be about him and that next season, he needs to be like a mentor to Jesse Love, not an enemy. Also for RCR, they need to start becoming more like HMS, Penske, Trackhouse, RFK or 23XI because those teams treat their drivers equally, it’s just that those drivers have different races and results as long as they work together to improve. I hope RC can learn a lesson from this afterward because if he, Andy Petree, and Austin Hill treat Jesse Love the same way as the did to Creed, then there are going to be major consequences, and I don’t think they would come from fan backlash.

Both were from a team running top 10-15 in points or even championship contending team and the best points finish was 2nd with Ryan Newman in 2014 meanwhile on the other end it was running tail end of the top 20 or 25 in points every other year besides 2014 and Jeff Burton’s stint

There goes what respect I still had for Childress. Seriously, Earnhardt and Harvick made RCR look good; take them out, RCR's mediocrity is exposed. Compare to Hendrick and Gibbs; they're still great without Gordon, Johnson, KFB or Smoke. Hell, I doubt RCR would have made it to 1995 without Earnhardt. Probably 1990. KFB is the only driver in the team I respect once Creed's out. Creed made the right call to go to Gibbs, like how Reddick going to 23XI was wise.

Geez no wonder Creed wants to leave this team and at this point I don't blame him.

It seems to me like Austin Hill thinks this is F1 with a Number 1 Driver and a Number 2 Driver. It is not, this is NASCAR and he needs to deal with it - or not. I would not be surprised if they replace Sheldon Creed next week. I am glad he's getting out of there.

Yeesh, no wonder Reddick couldn't wait to run out the door here!

Conveniently gloss over the fact that Hill has outrun Creed every week for two years. Hill gets moved twice, falls in line, and then Creed parks it in the middle of the corner. Don’t think Creed could play that out any worse for himself and the organization. He’s underperformed in top tier equipment for two years and it’s finally coming to a head.

Im no fan of Sheldon Creed but he wasn't the bad guy in this one. Hill hit Creed 4 times in this exchange. Including a door slam from the second lane and rear ending him so hard it blew his radiator. The only thing Hill did was push him up out of the lane. He didn't try to wreck him. If Hill would have just ran for second instead of door slamming and rear ending his team mate then they would both be in the championship 4. Petty and childish response from the entire organization.

Said on other videos on this topic and I will say it again here, I CANNOT wait for Creed to join JGR and make RCR look like the clowns they are

If this was a year ago, it would of been handled completely differently because Creed was coming back the following season. Now, I would be somewhat surprised if he is behind the wheel of the #2 at Phoenix. Not sure if Jesse Love can get into the #2 a race early, contract wise. He could be a TRD contracted driver until after Dec 31st, but maybe not, I dont know.. But I know for sure that any sort of bridge that Creed had with RCR, is not just burned, it was demolished before the match was lit.

The only thing Richard Childress has done in this sport has ride the coattails of Dale Earnhardt. I don’t know why anyone would want to drive for that organization.

That's short track racing! No friends on the last lap when going for the win! And there shouldn't be ''team orders''!

Chidress and Petree were out of line, Creed didn't do anything that someone else would have done to try to win and make the chase, he moved him not wrecked him, hill would have been better racing him instead of slamming into him on the straight, I understand Childress being upset neither made it but should have kept his mouth shut.

Jesse Love needs to watch his back is all I’ve got to say about it, RCR is pretty clear about how they run things now.

Creed is the guy, could have earned a win and a spot in the final four, along with Hill, but Hill is a fool, and so is RC, and so is Andy Petree

The fact that after the race Shel knew that he had to win and Hill could finish second and get in and when Hill was asked he said he didn’t know the points dynamic says it all. Cheatree and Dale’s car owner need to take a long look in the mirror. This should have been made clear before and during the race.

sucks for creed honestly, that dude raced his freakin heart out, in a car hes not going to return to next year. he did everything he could to get RC into the champ 4, and still gets hate from his team mate and owner. lol pretty sad!

Okay wtf is Childress on about? Anyone in Creeds position would of done the same shit. Like Jeff Burton says "I'm not racing for my teammates or manufacturers in their position I'm racing for me"
