Like you said,.. it may be tedious to pick the dial lock,.. you know what else is tedious?, looting for days to have it all disappear in 10 min. Cuz gold locks are a joke to raiders

Absolutely. Screw the raiders till they balance the game out. They are loosing people to the fatigue problem,starvation problem and if you can survive those then to have your stuff stolen no matter what. No game is worth playing if you gather stuff for hours or days then its all gone. Dont even get me started about needing a sewing kit to make a basic campfire in the middle of nowhere after you killed some animal. Also, not near enough deer,donkeys and other harmless animals much less the predator type. It is never hard as a Dev to add more food sources wherever you want in a game. They simply dont listen to the actual players. Hardcore is fine, but when you have to rest for an hour or 2 because you ran awhile people will want to quit. Along with the above mentioned already.

Anything that slows down the big squads and the players that can no-life most of a day in game is going to make them unhappy. And thus, I'm happy with those things.

@@DAS1337 I agree: a full squad zeroing out the cupboard of a solo IS punishing that solo for playing the game, and these dial locks as they currently are protect against that.

Theres a huge difference between laying down or crouching for 10 seconds to regen stamina and being forced to lay down and NOT PLAY for hours, when you want to play the game. They've cut the drain by 50% and increased regen by 50%.. so we'll see how that goes.

RayKit and the community completely overreacted to the dial locks without even testing them! Now they have been nerfed and are basically useless. It’s annoying when a “content creator” uses their platform to launch a crusade especially when they have no idea what they are talking about. It would have been nice to actually test the locks before making a video calling them OP.

Hey ray kit is allowed to express his opinions on his channel with a video. You can do the same. I just don’t agree with people in SCUM community targeting ray just because he voiced his opinion. Any one can create a video on RU-vid expressing how they feel about this update without talking about any one else besides the game. 🙏🏻

He asked “do the devs even play game” without knowing how something actually affects gameplay because it was just put in the game. It’s ridiculous.

It’s also disingenuous since he was all about the locks a week before. He literally said “I won’t complain” and then did.

The confusion with the fatigue system is pure comedy,.. it’s not super complicated, and also everyone acts as if laying down is the only way to alleviate the fatigue. Eat food and drink caffeine,.. those are both OP, you won’t have to lay Down at all. I ran across the map and had like .5 fatigue after cuz I stayed fed

Honestly if you’re just going to hop on a server to get in fights and then spawn sector when you die to get back to your body ASAP, there’s a lot better PvP games you can play out there.”

Yeah, what happened to a challenging PvEvP game? Kelp the environment challenging so it’ll affect us in PvP situations. Don’t have the Stamina to chase someone down or follow them? Should have taken the time to rest or saved an energy drink for that.

I'm with you in your response to this video, as it's negativity dissappointed me tremendously. On the updates themselves the Dial Lock is great addition, but i will admit that it should have been introdcued with a counter method; that said it is mitigated somewhat by their extreme rarity. The Fatigue system being commented here was the first iteration of a new effect, and we all know that previous first iterations were all aggressively introduced, but then scaled back in hotfixes (hand abrasions, Trench Foot etc), with feedback from the community. The Fatigue system introduces another thing to consider, which is why i love this game, as it constantly challenges me in how i play out each session. The game motto i live by has always been "adapt and overcome" and SCUM provides challenges to be overcome every minute i play, which to me is why I love this game so much.

The counter part to dial locks was released previously with grenades and pipe bombs being taped to walls to blow them up.. there was no base defense on that update

People are just retarded, they don't read the instructions (here I am refering to the fatigue system) and then they complain that they have to sleep all the time. I have literally not touched a bed outside of experimenting. All my SU is recovered from diet. I am literally running around with 60kg on my back. People need to chill the fuck out.

@@Zieksmythe Not really a counter IMO - i was thinking more of Bolt Cutters or creating a dial lock Shim, or even better a method of feedback for cycling the dials like you do in real life with them (Pulling the shackle)

Imo fatigue system now, with the hotfixes it seems more balanced, you still need toi rest, but now you recover acumulated fatigue much faster.

the locks i like too but the stamina thing is a bit weird i get what their trying to do but how it was was way better ..... run lay down run lay down...... now its run lay down run lay down and then after 2 hrs playing log out while waiting till stamina is back to 100 because it doesnt get higher then 60 so the times you can run are even shorter... no no no i dont like that at all but hey the red ghouls and coffeee help alot so i guess im getting addicted to that ;)

Also, just to chime in, you don't regain your stuff when you leave the server like you are saying. You still have to wait for your stamina to go back up. Even if its 3-4 hours every 90 minutes of playing. It is simply not fun. If you gained double logging off it would be better but that is 3 hours that you are resting your character.

As long as the dial locks are extremely rare, i'm for it. your right about the resting system. But that can be turned off in the server settings :)

@@JonBlazeLIVE Th fatigue system is the same system used in Sons of the Forest. People just don’t recognize it. In SOTF you sleep or you take energy drinks or energy bars. The difference is, it’s difficult to simulate sleep in SCUM. I run around with energy drinks now in SCUM. Just like I did in Sons of the Forest.

On the server I'm playing on they have fatigue turned off. I like the update, obviously it needs work with the new systems. The locks are great for casual gamers and regulars. It makes the use of pre-fab buildings that much more important

RayKit missed the mark, as usual. The fact that combo locks make the prefabs practically unraidable isn't even the actual issue. Think about it... the prefabs are where most of the loot and zombie spawners are located. They're also indestructible. Why would you allow players to lock them to begin with? Especially in a game that has its own separate base building system with destructible walls and stuff. Why would a player even want to build a base and risk losing all of their hard work when they can just put locks on a prefab, or 10? And that leads to a whole other issue entirely. If these things are going to have locks on them, they should be SERVER locks, not player locks! And they should despawn any loot left behind when players leave the area to improve server performance. Why would you allow players to store a bunch of items inside of an indestructible building? The other option would be to make prefabs actually destructible which would honestly be the more groundbreaking of the two, but based on what they've given us so far, I'm not sure if these devs are capable of making that happen. If you have a server, you can't change anything about it in the settings. Same with the fatigue system. Same with the puppets that wear useless shit just to troll us with their dirty rag infection system. Sure you can disable some of these things, but you can't change anything else about them in most cases. All of these little micromanagement type things they've added are nice systems to have as a base, but does everyone really want to play this way? Why don't they give us options to maybe tweak them to our liking instead of only having the option to either enable these type of systems that are configured more for "hardcore realism bro" type servers by default or nothing at all? And we're all stuck playing on the same map on every server too with no procedural map generation, no terrain/building sculpting, no rcon or anything useful of the sort on the admin side so once you've played on one server for a while, there's no real incentive to replay the game on another. If they haven't fleshed out these type of issues yet, why is the game even available to the public? SCUM feels like a cash grab to me. Seems like they're just trying to get the game ready based on some big proof of concept corporate content release schedule to impress their new acquisition overlords instead of developing the things that actually need to be worked on to give SCUM what it needs to see its true potential. And don't even get me started on this new "sleeping" mechanic... as if we didn't already have enough incentive to log out of SCUM right now 🤣

In multiplayer you can shut the game down in a bed or bedroll and regain what you lost. What about in single player? Doesn't time stop when you shut the game down? I haven't played single player for quite a while but, it did the last time I did. From what I understand quite a few people play single player. Maybe single player could have fast forward sleep. I played The Long Dark and it had the fast forward sleep and a game I'm fixing to play No One Survived has it also.
