T & T is not African. It is not a black country. Blacks are a minority with East Indians together with other races make up the majority. Carnival is a black culture of black Trinbagoians . East Indians have their own culture in where they are very proud. Know your facts.

Man, watching those kids around the Savanah talking to the Tigress with their little plastic mask on their face I got hit with instant nostalgia....I remember in the early 80s being there carnival Tuesday and we would harass the tired masquerades for pieces of their costumes when they were done. One time I got a gorilla mask put it on and went around the entire Savanah with it on my head on my roller skates. Memories 😢

Trinidad and Tobago 🇹🇹 kids get training from toddler age they have their own Carnival activities before Carnival. Every cultutal activity that the adults have the kids have their version.

African Tigress...glad to see you out and about, don't get discourage this is your 1st experience so you're just learning about the Carnival......you're doing great......next time come with someone so you can spend some time enjoying yourself as well maybe even play mass too.....their is a history behind all this Celebration which is quite interesting.. spend some time to look it up it have a connection to the history of slavery.....our people are the most resilient and can create beauty from the most dire situation.....this celebration speaks to that❤❤❤enjoy and be safe😊😊!!!

There will also be Carnival celebrations going on in other parts of the country on Cranival days..San Fernando, Tunapuna, Arima, Sangre Grande, but Port of Spain has the biggest celebration on the two days
