HAZWOPER...sounds delicious, right?
It actually stands for hazardous waste operations and emergency response. HAZWOPER is required for companies whose workers may work around certain chemical hazards, such as having an emergency response team for a food processing facility with anhydrous ammonia refrigeration, disaster response workers, excavation and construction workers who work on hazardous waste cleanup sites, towing companies who clean up spills, and others.
