Example- if one person worships God Vishnu , on the festival of Mahashivratri( God shivas festival) he also worships Lord Shiva, on the occasion of Ganesh festival , he worships Lord Ganesh. Navratri ( the festival of Goddess) is celebrated all over India. Even if theirs forms are different, their roles and responsibilities are different, all gods and goddesses are related to each other. In Hindism, you can worship god or become his devotee even if you are not woorshipping the idols. But most of the Hindu Sanatanis like to worship idols of their gods.
