The Riccar R40P is in the Riccar Tandem Air line. This machine is a pet model- so it comes with an additional pet upholstery attachment. If you are not a pet owner- don't shy away from this machine just yet. The pet upholstery attachments are ideal for cleaning upholstered surfaces, carpeted stairs, and the cars!
This machine has LED lights to light your cleaning path, and it has on board tool storage. So your cleaning attachments are stored with you as you move around. Please note that the additional pet upholstery attachment does not store on the machine.
This machine is bagged, and corded- and has charcoal filtration. Which is ideal for masking any odors and offering excellent filtration. There are 3 layers of filtration on top of the filtration that your HEPA bags offer. This machine will be ideal for users with allergy and asthma sufferers.

What is truly amazing is the price. $1600 for an Upright Vacuum. And the maintenance is pricy. Every 25 hours of use, it wants a new filter kit which costs $50. If you own your Home, the best option is a Central Vacuum and 100% of the dust will go outside. We own the R40P but got a super deal on it used. We have 6 Simplicity/Riccar Vacuums. The 8955 Riccar we have is very old but is the best cleaner we have used.

If the riccar 8955 is the best vacuum you've used, why did you buy other vacuums? Just curious

I have two Riccar 8955s, one Riccar 8925 and One Simplicity 7850. All are almost identical to each other and in near perfect condition. People as a rule are too rough on vacuums and dont change the bags, filters and agitator roll/brushes often enough. I think that these models are amongst the top 5 upright vacuums ever made. Most people that know them well and work on them agree.

@@user-zp2cb6fx5v We have around 8 Vacuums at this time. The 8955 has a 2 stage motor so it moves a lot of air. Most Vacuums we own are Simplicity/Riccar. Others are Royal and Kirby. The Riccar Cordless upright is the Wife's favorite. Around $650 new. We bought ours from CL for $25 missing the battery pack. Bought a new Battery and runs great. I restore Vacuums as a hobby. We no longer have the 8955. My Neighbor needed a good Vacuum for his Business and that is the best one for him.

I have a 8850 for like 204 years rock solid vac, but I wish this R40P allowed the brush roll to be engaged when upright like the 8850 as it makes stairs a breeze!

Very reliable. I've owned one for about 2 years and mine is actually an older one before they lengthened the hose. It's an awesome machine! Works great on hard floors and carpet and the tools are very easy to use.

@@mhtube01 I have the 8850 for 24 years, and is rock solid. 7 years ago I moved to a Miele Dynamic U1, which cleans better but is more cumbersome. I want to get this R40P
