Hi Jeff, thank you very much for your effort in teaching us what you've learned in the past years. I've found your channel a few days ago and try to listen to your videos whenever I get a chance from my baby :) I've got a couple of questions, but first I want to watch all of your videos so maybe I can find my answers. But I just wanted to ask a question in the right place. It's about gathering data from the field. You are a senior ID, and you have different teams. So, who decides the questions to be asked in the field in the Analysis phase, and who is working in the field to gather data? Thanks in advance,

Great question! In my current job, there are usually 2 - 3 of us on a project team. We all come up with questions to ask the SMEs during analysis. In past jobs where I was more of a "one man show" doing both the instructional design and training, it was just me.

Is there any recognised professional certifications available for ID? Which can help to get job faster ?

In the description of this video, I have a whole bunch of resources I recommend you take a look at. I do think any company hiring for an ID is going to want you to have some experience but there are a lot of ways to get experience if you don’t have any yet.
