This is not a integration testing, this is functional (end-to-end) testing. Integration testings tests just the border between two systems, but not the scenrio. For example integration testing tests CRUD for database tables and verifies that the data at lease will send or received, or mapping is correct, but who cares what user story do you implement? To test user stories you have to have all set of your systems and subsystems you will use. So, testsers write articles for testers without knowledge what is integration testing.
+ankush jethi you can name it what you want, but in the serious companies engineers use correct names for each thing. And they get it not from blogs of geeks and php monkey coders, but from documentation, books and university. This tests are functional tests and nothing else but this. The integration test is test which checks the integration only. Just the last layer of your system and with interface of the another system. And system integration tests - is just you imagination or lack of knowledge or wrong approach and result of wrong organisation of the process. And don't trust wikipedia so often.
Missed opportunity. The last sentence could have made a huge difference if you added for example "The choice of approach chosen depends on the system architecture and location of high risk modules. High risk models on low level will require top to down integration testing" or whatever the real case is. .
Hey L Ishi, as far as I know Integration test is part of the black box testing and it's done by Testers. It's important to remember that the distribution of tasks depends on the organization
