IPA is international phonetic alphabet and it is based on southern British English pronunciation. I recommend 2 useful online dictionaries they are longman and lexico.
Let’s check, do we have to know IPA? No ! Is this useful? Yes , absolutely yes. Unfortunately, English spelling and punctuation isn’t regular. It is horribly irregular.
No relation between writing and spelling.
Look at here these words: Wednesday and laugh they are not as same as their spelling.
But the good news is IPA ls 100 % phonetic it means 100% correct. And in 1-2 hours you can learn but of course you need practice and repeat.
