The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is an action-adventure video game developed and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch and Wii U video game consoles. It is the 19th main installment in the The Legend of Zelda series. The story is set in Hyrule and follows amnesiac protagonist Link, who awakens from a 100-year slumber to a mysterious voice that guides him to defeat Calamity Ganon.
The title's gameplay and mechanics constitute a departure from the series' conventions, featuring an open-world environment, a detailed physics engine, high-definition visuals, voice acting, and the ability to play through the game's dungeons in any order. Announced in 2013, the game was initially planned for release as a Wii U exclusive in 2015, but was delayed twice prior to its release on 3 March 2017. I hope they add a sacred stable or something like the other side of the map and that sacred stable allows the use of registering the lord of the mountain. It could be like a shrine in a mountain or something where the lord of the mountain watches over the whole of hyrule.

I saw the Lord of the Mountain because I was searching for shooting stars and I saw the blue glow thinking it was a star. When I got there, I said out loud, “WHAT THE F-- IS THAT?”

...I saw that blue light, but I didn't get to investigate it yet because the skeleton bokoblins caught me off guard and kicked me off the cliff I was on... I didn't mark the spot on the map... I thought it was just a star fragment too... But, after this video, I thought of Kas' riddle song lyric I'm going back to find it again...

You actually get 3 attempts to tame the Lord of the Mountain each time it spawns. If it runs away, just walk away from the pond to the edge of the summit and then back to it. You'll hear a melodic jingle and see it fade back into view, just as calm as it was before you approached.

This is how I'd like to keep lord of the mountain: -Wait for the blue lights - approach it (you have 3 tries) - feed it a star fragment - its glow's gonna intensify - mount it - now everywhere you go the blue light of satoris mountain will follow you as well as the music, and places that have it's own music (stables, villages, etc) will still play their themes but in an adapted version to match with satoris mountain's. - during the first night, there's gonna be a event like the blood moon but this time it's the soul moon, a very bright blue moon will rise accompanied by a very pretty light show and a cutscene will occur where zelda's voice will narrate something like "Link, this is the Soul Moon, it's insurgency means you have entered the silent realm and the souls from both mortal and immortal ones walks the same path. This is a time for inner growth, so allow this ethereal god guide you towards your spiriual fortification". - After the cutscene, a new sidequest would appear, where you have to, while still mounted in lord of the mountain, ride around hyrule and find things simlar to star fragments but shaped like petals until you fill your vessel (like skyward sword's silent realms). -Sucess will grant you the favor of the lord of the mountain and you'll have him at you dispposal anytime you want -but instead of at the stable, Lord of the Mountain will be at the little stable by Link's house - LotM sounds like a cool enough reward, but if anyone wants to add to the list, feel free to coment with what bonus effects riding LotM would grant us.

I don't know if this little bit of info will help, but I thought I'd put it out here anyway. I saw the green glow earlier today while I was "grinding" Star Fragments. I was using the technique where you set up camp on top of Dueling Peaks, pass 8 days for the next full moon, and watch for the shooting star to fall between 10pm and 3am. I've seen a few people say that you should make a save and reset the game in case the shooting star doesn't show up. But I found that to be pretty unnecessary, as the shooting star showed up every single full moon night for me... except for one. The 8th one. And on that night, what did I see instead? You guessed it. The green glow. My assumption is that maybe the green glow spawns in place of the shooting star once every 8 full moons, or once every 64 "days". I'm assuming a lot of crap here, but that's just been my experience. (Edited 'cause grammar)

Eatinggamer 39 Stalhorse dies when it turns day, not gonna happen. Lord of the Mountain is already op enough with infinite stamina and no random enemy spawns. Lynels are considered one of the strongest enemies in the game, which would basically be the aggressive version of the Lord of the Mountain.

I agree from a game making standpoint it's an Easter egg dedicated to Iwata From an in game context I think the sage is the sage Ganondorf killed in Twilight Princess (if this takes place in the Child Timeline)

Nah dude, its the Adult Victory timeline. It makes sense with the Koroks even existing to rebuild the land at the end of Wind Waker, it fits the idea of the New Land they found in Spirit Tracks, and there's an obvious Wind Waker vibe to this game. But it could be one of the sages that died at the hands of Ganon in the past way way after Wind Waker.

You need to build up relationship first. Keep petting it. Once you reach 100% bond with it, it won't disappear when you dismount it. Then you can feed it apples or carrots

Not sure if anyone else has posted this, but I think the Lord of the Mountain is the reincarnation of the sage that Ganondorf killed in Twilight Princess. Something that helps tie Breath of the Wild taking place some time after Twilight Princess a little more, seeing how it's believed that's where this game takes place in the timeline.

AwesomeCakester Good theory but it said that when the sage died and became the Lord of the Mountain he watched over the place hu died at, and the water sage that Ganondorf killed died at the Arbiter's grounds and the Arbiter's grounds in BOTW is not the same mountain that the Lord of the Mountain died

btw, you can get princess Zelda's horse, in Outskirt Stable, there is an old guy with a quest, talk to him then go to Safula Hill, when you find the horse mount it and register it, then talk to the old guy again and he will give you the saddle that princess Zelda used for the horse ;), it would be awesome if Austin did a tutorial on it and mentioned me :)

I also believe that it is the sage of water ganon killed! Its true that Ganondorf murdered him in Arbiter´s grounds. However, Satori Mountain is VERY close to Gerudo Desert, so if it is the sage of water reincarnated, he might want to move to a less arid environment, even if its not full of water like Zora´s domain. A mountain is perfect, since its cold-ish, and closer to the sky so if it rains it gets there first.

At 113 I gave up and put on the sheikah sensor to find two more, the last five I looked up their location on an online map. I found some pretty good hidden ones without the sensor and 3 out of 5 that I had to look up where pretty out in the open.

Austin John Plays Now that Ive beaten this Zelda which was a amazing game. The puzzles and envirements. But just one flaw for me. Its Zelda, why in the holy link, its the Master Sword opinal, I mean its Zelda you shouldn't be able to beat the game with out it..it doesn't feel right..😢

I noticed a beautiful blue glow on a mountain, followed it, thinking it was a shooting star, climbed up it and saw this badboy last night. First I saw the Blupees, and shot one, but THEN I noticed the horse! I didn’t know what to do! I tried to mount it but it disappeared. Knowing I can’t keep it, I don’t feel as bad. Such a beautiful steed.

i accidentally discovered the lord of the mountain today. i was just making my way towards a tower and i suddenly see the glow from a mountain and i was so close to just ignoring it, but then i thought maybe it could be a memory so i went to it. there were so many mountain goats in the area, i was thinking ok wtf but didn’t think too much of it, and then i reach the top and find IT. so many blupees and the lord of the mountain right there. when i tell you i literally gasped in awe. i tried to mount it but only had a wheel and a half of stamina and it disappeared, but then it appeared quite quickly again and i mounted it again and managed to tame it by eating food that replenished my stamina. ahh, it was so majestic and magical... probably will be my favourite moment in zelda ever

Breath of the wild is an amazing game it's full of wonder and mystery around every corner and every hill top you climb. It is a master piece of an open world game. I have been playing games for years and this is everything I could ever hope for. And this little bit right here makes it even more magical

Another interesting note is that "Satori" can also refer to a kind of mountain yokai in Japanese folklore that are thought to be the incarnations of mountain gods, hence the title "Lord of the Mountains". They are named "Satori" because they are able to read "satoru" (people's minds). So this shiny mount seems to be play on multiple things.

Not sure if this was said already, but you don't need sneaky clothes and if he vanishes you can get him to reappear right away. Just climb the rocks and as soon as you're at the top he reappears. If you glide down you can just land on him. I had 3 full wheels when I found him so I tamed him in one shot. Also you can dismount him with out him running away.

Partially. At the foot of the mountain there's also the ruins of a sage's temple. And on the mountain itself there are a camping site and an orchard with gardening tools. It may be meant to symbolise Iwata's spirit watching over but it is also the in-game it is the reincarnated soul of a literal sage that once watched over the wildlife of the mountain that sits next to his temple.

So being so amazed with what I found out about watching this video I waited and finally saw 'The Lord of the Mountain'!!! So I did the same thing, ate some sneaky food, put on my Sheik gear and tried to approach it! Obviously failed but then as I turned around facing my back towards the pond I heard it reappear and I turned around and it disappeared on me again, and then in a split second, he appears for a third time as if he was simply saying hello. Damn I got crazy goosebumps! Love this game, especially never really being into Zelda growing up, I appreciate the title even more and wish I got around to Zelda when I was younger. But without a doubt, always chose Link, or Zelda/Sheik playing Melee!

Oh I'm so glad for this video. I just encountered this horse tonight. I saw a falling star in that direction. Started fast traveling toward where I though it dropped, saw a blue glow and thought that had to be it. I investigated and was really surprised by what I saw. I didn't even know what to google, tried "glowing horse and rabbits botw" and a bunch of other stuff and nada. I'm glad to find out you can't register the horse. I spent a lot of time trying to find this thing again, and haven't had any luck. Knowing what's required to tame it, and the fact you can't register it makes me think it's not worth really going for that much til end-game. Still, super cool, I'll keep a watch out for it.

Also keep in mind that the mountain is full of ravens which symbolize death. ALSO there's a ton of stal-monsters there too. Also near Satori Mountain there's a skeletal torso in the ground with a golden sword underneath it. Maybe it means he had a heart of gold?

Just rode Lord of the Mountain. Had 2 and not quite a half circles of stamina. Rode him around a bit to check out what he could do. Basically just go really fast without tiring out. I think the monsters were coincidental though? I returned him back to his spot since I saw the blue/green glow was still there, thought blupees might be out, sadly no. Anywho, jumped off him in his pond and he waited a minute before calmly walking off and disappearing. No monsters spawned.

Didn't see it mentioned in any of the comments below, but I actually caught the LotM 'spawning' my first play through. I didn't know what it was, or how I might have triggered it, but did catch a comet/meteor coming down and hitting the top of the mountain and spawning the tell-tale blue glow. I can't recall exactly where I was but I'm pretty sure it was the north side of the eastern part of the Garudo Highlands.

This has been keeping me up lately... So the blupee’s are an extension of the Lord of The Mountain who protects Link from danger. But the Koroks specifically tell Link to shoot a blupee whenever he needs rupees. Are the Koroks actually evil and are subverting Link throughout the game?

Farming tip: In two small forests east on Satori Mountain, closest to the top there are loads of apples, and closest to the path there are herbs and flowers.
