Compelling ourselves to try loving, wherever there is forced effort, wherever there are two there is no love, wherever there is a separation there is no love, wherever there are these sensations that we call love those sensations are not love, there is no confusing chemical mechanism. There are chemicals being released in the brain “I love that person, love that person, love that person”. Then we see someone else and the chemicals are released. Does it or does it not? There are no chemical complications and mechanisms. Nor do you want anything from the person in front of you. Nor are there any thoughts going on in our mind. What do we call thoughts? We are talking to ourselves in our own heads. “Oh, he’s so good”. “Oh, she’s so good”. All that inside chatter, thoughts (grimace). Something is now standing in between. What am I referring to? There is nothing in between! Nothing! There is nothing in between. That’s love! If there is anything in between. Anything. Then that’s not love, that’s dependency. I have a hunger and I am using the person in front of me to satiate my hunger, we end up calling that love. In the common definition. According to that definition, a cat loves a mouse. All night, who is the cat thinking of? Crowd (in unison): About the mouse Sandeep: About the mouse. What does the cat want? Crowd (in unison): Mouse! Sandeep: Wants the mouse. Is the cat thinking about the mouse or itself? Crowd (in unison): Itself Sandeep: Yes! We are hungry. We are calling the need to satisfy our hunger, love. That hunger can be of any kind - physical, psychological, emotional. So to satisfy hunger is not love. The elimination of hunger itself is love. We don’t want anything from the person in front of us. If you are sitting next to this person, then you can look at them for hours without thinking anything, then you can say you love this person. Without wanting anything at all, anything, somehow you can stay with someone, then you can say you are in love with this person. This doesn’t mean, don’t interpret this the wrong way, that you are against physical, you are not against physiological, you are not against psychological, all that is there too. But all that is not important. It is as important as it is in actuality, no more, no less. You are thirsty, you drink some water, you are good. No more than that. You are not going to be drinking water for 24 hours straight. So what is love? It is not this bubbling simmer, it is the stilling. What do we think of love? We think it is this bubbling simmering feeling, that’s not it. “Oh it’s so much fun with this person!” “I love being with this person!” That all is not love, it’s just bubbling feelings. Where there is effort that is not love. Where there is an excitement to be with someone that is not love. Where there is nothing, no sensations, you are there with that person, you can be with that person for hours and hours and hours, the way we’ve heard in stories. Without doing anything you just keep looking at this person. So there is not a lot of difference between being crazy and being in love. What does it mean to be crazy? (rhetorical) That we are not doing according to our thoughts. We have transcended our thoughts. This is not comprehended by the average person. People who are driven by their thoughts alone, are duplicitous.They show themselves as one person on the outside, but they are another person inside. This “thought/intellect” stands in the way of love. The moment you have thought, all has ended. Whatever you will think, love stands opposed. Whatever you think, whatever you call thinking, like “she is really nice” so will it take long for you to think and see “she is very bad”? One minute she will appear nice, and the next minute she will appear bad. One minute the relationship will become great and the next moment it will end. What am I referring to? Where ending is not a possibility. If you wanted that relationship still cannot end alive or after death. The elimination of oneself is love. To see I do not exist, that is love. To see you do not exist, that is love. We don’t have to attach, we already are attached. We were attached as one before this life, we are one during this life, and will be one after this life.
