The original MagSafe was for the MacBooks and was a proprietary charging cable which has magnets in it so if it’s hit or pulled away it can disconnect without damaging the port
@@frogsaregood2541 I had to cuz it’s misinformation at this point. Apple just reused the MagSafe branding from the original chargers but for the qi wireless charging standard which has been out for decades. They just added a ring of magnets around the wireless charging coil and call it MagSafe.
@@Pablojunior2006 It is currently capped at 15w. In terms of data connectivity and charging speeds, it is a regression 1) for having worse, less direct data transfers and, Apple being Apple, effectivley removes the possibility of data interfacing from non apple devices that dont have airdrop 2) the speeds are unnaceptable, even by apple standards. Right now it is innovating backwards with no forethought of laying the groundwork for it to substitute a port. You try airdropping or emailimg a sizable data file and see how that "it just works" mentality goes. You'll be so lucky to have background 3rd party uploads on iphones currently.
Magsafe, to me, is just the charging plug of the MacBook, cuz I never owned an iPhone. It's safe because when u trip over the cable, the MacBook won't fall onto the ground
That's....that's kimda, what it is based off and named after. Problem is the strength of the magnets, so instead of detatching as a cable normaly would, you have magsafe to thank for a nice broken screen because the resistence of the magnets dont allow the detatchmemt to easily happen as if the cable gets snagged. I mean these things are comoletley avoidable, but it seems kimda redundant in this sense.
The biggest issue with magsafe is that apple somehow managed to get a patent for "magnets in a circle". No size specific magnets or needed pull etc. Just magnets in a circle. Oh and round magnets. A sibgle big round magnet is also not possible while the patent exists. Like wtf amrican patent office.
i don't even like apple and don't know anything about their shit but still asking myself: Who tf doesn't know magsafe?! (also no i knew what magsafe was before this video)
what is the subscribe button, I'm too lazy to Google, and why does it toggle to subscribed when I click it, maybe everybody should do that, and something will happen, like a number goes up?
don’t recommend doing that. Apple integrated MagSafe to be faster than QI charging. you’re basically charging your phone slower than MagSafe. trust me, I tried.
Bro your devices are amazing can I get a Samsung s22 for exchange with my one plus Nord ce 3 lite since I am very curious to use a flagship device I can't afford one.❤
I mean, yes and no. The wire is required to connect to a power source, but not physically plugging it in. Car wireless chargers count and, to some extent, so do other charging pads. So it's kinda half a misnomer until OTA induction charging is a thing - if it ever takes off, that is.
@@insertnamehere8723 alright🤡🤓. I would just rather not have my phone constantly in one spot to charge. And it isn't fully wireless. There is literally a wire going into the charger to keep it powered.
@@Plage_ not all wireless chargers have cable, kiddo. I literally gave you an example of one's used in cars and how the terminology is half correct. Regardless, that's literally what magsafe is for, so you don't have to plug in or have your phone limited to the charging pad location.
@@wolfbad512 which is again why magsafe exists to negate fumbling to find cables in the dark and also the limitation of needing to be left on a stand. Keep up.
You can get a magsafe case for most major Android phones. I have a s23 fe with a magsafe case from torras. Love the case and having magsafe is incredible.
As you know I am a student and I want to buy a laptop for coding and and kind of play some games like GTA v cyberpunk when I am free which laptop should I consider Mac or windows I don't have unlimited budget so it should be in budget
@@2nd-placeyou expect me to pay 60 Bucks for an overpriced piece of plastic when I can get a decent quality wallet separate and cheaper and not lose everything if I lose my phone
@@2nd-placeyeah I don't want a $60 accessory that's only for a magsafe phone.... I can use my regular wallet for a lot longer. I don't need more junk.
There's a phone case company called Pitaka, they got a few magsafe cases available for some flagship Samsung and Google phones at the moment. As far as I know (I don't own one to say) it's the thinnest case you can get with magsafe on it and it's carbon fiber
But wait, is it possible to damage your banking cards if you put then to your MagSafe iPhone?) It's kinda interesting, cuz i had some problems with my credit card after "contacting with magnetic fields" as my bank was explained) So yeah, does it possible to damage a credit card with MagSafe?
Best thing Apple ever made. I'm sooooo happy that I can use magsafe pock socket, car phone mount, desk stand for my, SAMSUNG S23 ULTRA and collection of all mous cases. 👌 ♥
That's not entirely correct. In the video you talk about the MagSafe of iPhones but it's not just that: MagSafe is a feature that allows you to charge Apple devices supported by their main or secondary charging sources with the addition of some magnets that allow you to have that type of charging as stable and safe as possible. On supported iPhones we find the rear Ring, on supported iPads we find the charging area for the Apple Pencil 2, on MacBooks we instead find the actual charging of the laptop itself.
I dont understand what the fuss is with built in magsafe. I'd prefer it to stay in the case like it is currently with android (as far as i know), then you can decide if you want it. Personlly I dont want a strong permanent magnet on my device, in my pocket, potentially doing damage to items around it.
Wonder why Apple calls it Mag Safe that name sounds weird to me and doesn't make a lot of sense. I think that's why most ppl are confused on what it is. Also doesn't most Mag Safe accessories also work on Android phones as well despite them not having magnets located in the back of the phone?
I got a iPhone for MagSafe then I found out I needed a MagSafe case to use it with a case then I found out that android already has MagSafe cases for some phones and I could of just got a s23 over a iPhone 14
I love how man said wireless charging stand where the wire for the stand is literally coiled up right there. The first time i got a wireless charger i almost felt cheated when i proceeded to spend the next 2 hours cable managing the wire going to the wireless charger😢😢
Most DISASTROUS invention for environment. Multiply Huge inefficiency times 300 million users. Like lighting a forest on fire every day for the same charge you get plugging in the stupid cord. If your that lazy get a stand with the usb plug built in like the old Motorola Droid phones.
MagSafe pisses me off so much. Everyone is like “oh, MagSafe is so cool, you have all these really good gadgets” whilst they’re actually trash in comparison to the original concept: X-link. It existed years before MagSafe, and it’s literally better in every way. It consists of 1 big central magnet which has a direct connection to all accessories you use with it. The magnet is way stronger, and you can do so much more with it. Wireless charging is twice as fast with X-link, and it also has an almost identical lineup of gadgets, plus some more. Because of the way it’s designed, you can have a direct connection to the accessory, which makes it capable of reading SD cards like usb devices, connect to displays and fast data transfer. It just has all usb-C functionality but better, and more. It’s also way more convenient. It’s overlooked way too often. We need X-link, not the inferior MagSafe!
You have a phone with wireless charging You have 2-4 small size neodymium magnet And a phone case Bingo..... You have magsafe in ur phone I try it and it works really good I mean better than real one😅😅😅😅😅
I think the only advantage of MagSafe over…you know…a magnet with a double sided metal strip combo…is that you can wirelessly charge your phone too via coils. If you just want a dumb stand or wallet just use a magnet literally or get a 1$ metal “MagSafe” adhesive circle for your android
Wireless powerbanks are the biggest stupidity I've heard in a while. They are small, their charge efficiency is like 40%,so it charges your phone from 0 to 20% at best...
Bro made a whole video and explained MagSafe for iPhones which came just in 2020 with the iPhone 12 series but not the MagSafe which came years ago to MacBooks…
Android users already have magnetic charging usage and other things that Apple is telling they invented [they didn't invented most of the things that are getting in the updates, Android has all what you are getting like for example widgets and you are paying money for a company that doesn't really put what consumers want in The device, I don't have a bias but I like Android because more modding and applications l.
Not gonna lie. I am ani android Guy. I am using nothing phone 1 right Now And i do not like Apple products. But I like magsafe idea very much and please make android magsafe someone. This Is fr practical inovation to the phones And I just wanna see it on the android
Best part of the magsafe wallet is that it can be quickly taken off for charging or to use another accessory. One of my favorites is an Xbox controller mount from otter box. Great for playing Genshin and Star Rail.
Not feeling magsafe. The charging speeds are horrendous. Plus, it could interfere with the operation of your device. Wallets on the back of a phone are tacky, sorry guys...
So they figured out a way for Moto Mods to suck . Yeesh. How about a projector or a Bose speaker? Yeah no been there done that. Motorola please.. please bring back the Z series. There is still a market for it, trust me.
Yeah until you want to use a finger ring on your phone, then all magnetic charging is useless until they make it strong enough to not be bother by less than 1cm of distance. Also, the wallet thingy? I can’t imagine it not constantly getting caught on the material and staying in your pocket when you pull the phone out :/
