As an introvert, I love swimming alone. Joining the master swimmer sounds like a great idea to learn from experienced swimmers, but it's indeed intimidating.
She sounds like an amazing masters coach. I wish I lived in her area. The masters swim program in my area does the paper on the clipboard and the coach is cocky and hard to approach.
I want to join a master swim program because I enjoyed swimming in my high school swim team. When I was swimming I was fit, or at least fitter than I am now. I use to like going to other schools a competing in their pools. It was exciting to me. I'm hoping to swim once again.
Thanks for that info! I haven’t started with maters yet due to Covid protocols. You are so right re being new and not knowing all the right questions to ask! Would it be possible to list or talk about some of the lingo you mentioned? I swim in my own but have never in a group and it would be helpful to know some terms before meeting the group.
I live in Texas, I live 30 miles from the nearest YMCA. I am interested in swimming on a master's swim team. I competed in high school; from what I have found there is no master's program near me. I was wondering how I can get started. I have been out of swimming for over 40 years so totally out of shape. Any suggestions would be apprecited
