Not a bad video but would be better if you explained that the backhaul exists no matter what you use. Wireless backhaul is the standard and uses either some of the available bandwidth or has its own said of radios for the backhaul. Cabled backhaul is the best option but not always possible. Wireless and cabled backhaul can exist in the same system its not a one or the other thing.

I have TP Link deco X60/AX5400 wifi 6 mesh system 3-pack installed recently in my house provided by the broadband provider. I can easily move any 2 of it to any corner I like in my house to obtain the best signal, the main MESH must connected with the modem at fix point to send the wifi signal. This MESH system much much much better compared to the old system which was only equipped with ONE FIX point to send signal. I am very satisfied with it ! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

I have a Google Wifi Mesh system (2/5 GHz) in my 3200 sq foot home with 4 pucks at this point. Despite having the units spread relatively evenly from one end of the house to the other end, I find that the Wifi connectivity is marginal a the fourth unit. Still listed as GOOD signal , but this is while sitting just 3-4 feet from the unit. I've tried repositioning the remote units, but haven't seen any appreciable improvement in signal strength. Just 5-6 feet through the wall into the garage, the signal goes to weak, and 20 feet further by the garage door, it's nearly non-existent. I plan on adding one additional puck in the garage, but not sure that will improve things much. I've heard that Wifi 6(e) is really great and really fast compared to the 2/5 that I have. I've also heard that the signal strength through walls is worse with the 6(e) than with the 5. Is it worth shelling out nearly $400 for a three unit Google 6 Wifi, or should I just stick with my Wifi 5. I know TP link is supposedly much better, but the price is ourageous.

Like all your videos, this one is very informative. We inherited a complete cat6 wired home with Ruckus box and WACs on each floor, although they were installed about three years back. Don't know enough about them, but do you think a Wi-Fi-6 or 6E will give better performance when connecting to TVs in each room, multiple devices and security cameras? Was considering installing PoE cameras, but not sure if an ethernet wire from these would power them.
@GuiltyPleasures
@GuiltyPleasures Год назад
PoE requires an injector. Some networking switches have PoE ports. You can also purchase PoE injectors that are standalone units. A cat6 wired home is extremely nice. Cat 6 cabling will support 10G speeds. That's 10 Gigabit per second. That'll be local traffic only, your internet speed is governed by your ISP and your modem. To really take advantage of 10G cabling, you'd need multi gig capable hardware (networking switches / routers).

I’m just gonna buy the cheaper google wifi 3 pack and hard wire them all throughout the house. I use Walmart Ethernet wire outdoors. So far it’s fine. Been through hot and cold weather for years now. You don’t really need to get the special outdoor Ethernet cables. My only problem is getting a good wifi signal for my front house ring cameras. I have them close to the street and the router signal doesn’t reach that far. I might have to just put a router outside someplace under the roof. Or would a wifi extender be best? Can router wifi signals go through window glass? Or is it still obstructing?

I have change the setting on the router to make it a modem then purchased a tp link archer ax10 for my router. I then have poe cctv and installed ethernet cables to each room. I have 2 switches under the stairs one is for the ethernet in the rooms the other has poe for the cctv. Would i be better off having one switch that does all of this together. My next question if i already have the archer router when i purchase a mesh system how would i set that up would one unit become another router or could all be satellites. Thanks Barry

Steve, I presently live in Trinidad. I don't think my local ISP supports WiFi 6 0r 6E tech or have plans to do it anytime soon. If I were to purchase a WiFi 6E compatable mesh network is it the only benefits I would really get from it now is the triband cabality where the traffic on the internal network can managed on the 3rd band freeing up my 2.5Ghz and 5G networks???

@GuiltyPleasures
@GuiltyPleasures Год назад
A mesh system is no different - in terms of how well it can transmit data - than any wireless network. The 5ghz band (wifi 5) has been transmitting 4k video for a while at this point (those fire / roku sticks are almost exclusively wifi 5, because 6 and 6e are very new). The newest Fire TV Cube is wifi 6e, but I'd have to check on the newest version(s) of the various sticks, they may or may not have upgraded to 6/6e yet. Point is: If WiFi 5 can handle 4k video, it'll handle must just fine. Signal strength is impacted by all manner of things, most of which are exactly what mesh systems were created to get around.

@zaxele
@zaxele 2 месяца назад
If the band is 2.4GHz, it can be very congested. A mesh with a 5GHz band would be better. Wifi6 has 6GHz but it has weaker wall penetration and not a lot devices support it yet so a Wifi5 mesh is probably enough. ISP routers are also cheap so it might not be able to handle that many devices at once, with a single core CPU. More expensive meshes have quad core CPU. A good single mesh node, or a mesh system with one root node (connected to ISP router via cable, preferably cat6 cable so it's not limited to 100Mbps) and multiple wireless satellite nodes for the rooms, can handle a lot of clients. But you should check if those devices only support 2.4G wifi. If they're old they can't use the 5G band.

I broke down last month and actually wired my house fully with wired ethernet to every computer, tv etc.. I now have full speed internet on all my devices. The only thing my wifi router does now is support our exterior security cameras. This will be fixed once we purchase wired in 4k cameras. It will also solve the battery problem with wired cameras! It was also solve the delay our cameras have because they are on wifi. The whole wifi repeater thing is problematic at best. Stop ✋️ the insanity and just wire your home with ehernet outlets ,it will make you smile 😃
