My security was compromised and I really need to talk directly to a support rep for MM ... but despite claims made on their website, it appears they offer no direct contact ... Wonderful work, there is no better way to explain these concepts with analogies and stories. After looking at few videos, a separate video can be done using analogy between crypo ecosystem and current fiat transaction world.. Role of credit card number (public key) , password, transaction, authorisation, bank (how exchange relates to it ), interest/rewards etc. It can be a cheat sheet for crypto ecosystem 😀

Just be aware they have access to many information from your browser, for example: network monitoring, clicks, mouse position, scroll or keystroke logging.
Mistake in the video. Metamask has the ability to communicate to the Ledger device (and other hardware wallets) and make transactions. You do not have to input your private keys from the Ledger Nano into Metamask. If the Ledger is plugged into the computer, you can click the upper right hand corner of the metamask app, then click "Connect Hardware Wallet" then you can Use Metamask, and protect your private keys inside the Ledger Nano, for extra security. The only downside, is that you have to have the Ledger Nano plugged into the PC while using Meta Mask, and you have to confirm the transactions inside both Meta Mask and the Ledger device.
In your opinion, what makes having to have the ledger on hand and plugged in along with confirming transactions on MM and the hardware wallet a downside? I would feel it provides an extra layer of security, yes?
@@lordjael I stated it as a possible downside because it is an extra step, thus extra level of complexity to blockchain transactions. Also sometimes it seems like an option flips itself off, which prevents transactions from happening. Plus, there are times I have had to update the ledger, because suddenly all transactions stopped working. Overall, though, having the extra layer of security is my preferred approach. That far outways some of the minor inconveniences that I have to deal with occasionally.

This is cool and thanks. Do you know how to exchange it from MetaMask USDT Wallett to PayPal? There are several different wallets in MetaMask. I have funds under USDT Wallet, how can I withdraw it from USDT Wallet to PayPal? I've tried to convert it to ETH Wallet or BTC Wallet and send it to the PayPal address under Crypto, but it keeps failing. I live in US and i do have a Coinbase act. Can you make a video on it, please?
I have metamask and It only opens when being asked to connect to a wallet? How do I open it in my browser just to move funds around/buy? I tried tools>Extensions but that just took me to google saying "THERE IT IS :) SEE THE APP IS RIGHT HERE :3c" But how do I actually open the app??
I am confused about the fees... I'm quite amazed that people are not freak out when we try to swap token.. It tried to swap 4 dollars worth of ether to apecoin and the fee was 14 dollars..? How do people find that reasonable?

to be clear for me. the section on Ledger account to Metamask. If I use my seed words to add a ledger account, then the balance will show that account (like ledger live) but I would have to connect my Nano to send or receive from that Nano account. Correct?
No. All of your funds are now available to send and spend via the MetaMask wallet. That is how easy it would be for someone to steal all of your coin if they had your phrase.
@@ryanfox6260 Yeah the information in this video about importing a hardware wallet's mnemonics and private key are very flawed. Completely goes against the purpose of having an offline, hardware wallet. To put it simply, if you import a hardware wallet using the mnemonics and private key, you can approve transactions directly in Metamask, without using the hardware wallet. This essentially just makes it... any other wallet. Instead, you should use the "Connect Hardware Wallet" button. Using a USB connection to your hardware wallet, Metamask reads your wallet address, and then acts as a tool to initiate transactions. But you still need to APPROVE the transactions using the hardware itself. Good video, but that one piece of information really hurts the credibility of the publisher.
Great video. I have a question for you and would like your help. I transfer ETH from binance to metamask I can see the txid but not the right ETH amount. Why is this?

So can Metamask be used to buy and store your crypto instead of places like Binance for example? And a more noob friendly one like Revolut with the added bonus that you do actually own your crypto?
Yes but if you’re careful your account can get easily hacked. A cold wallet like trezor or ledger will help you keep your crypto safe if you plan to do long term holds

Metamask ask me to change my password every single time I login for foundation app and every time i have to lose my cryptos I mean imagine that i have ones , i must lose them all only bc this app thinking my password wrong

I find it so funny how crypto is about breaking up large banking corporations and decentralization but the crypto ecosystem is starting to create large companies that could become corporations thus undoing the whole libertarian ideology it's based on.
The value changes in your wallet, because the value of Etherium is in constant flux. Metamask has the ability to show you the dollar value of if you sell your Eth at that given moment.
