Awesome! Great concepts shared in a clear and easy way to understand. Once recognized could really help alleviate financial stress. Appreciate this perspective and inclusion of our children. Will be ordering this book. Thank you!!
I started teaching my kids about finance when they were five years old. Both kids had Roth IRAs in high school. By the time they hit college each had over $20,000 saved. They both contribute monthly and will graduate from school without any debt with STEM majors.
I live by the rule of cars should be no more than 5% of your liquid net worth (i.e. not including your house). Right now, we're driving around 10-15 year old beaters.
Thanks so much. I'm hoping to inspire a movement to change the way we think & feel about money so that we can eliminate the shame and judgment we have towards money. It really means a lot that you enjoyed the segment.
I am barely middle class and see so many wealthy people around me. I am barely able to pay the mortgage, save for retirement and pay off my kids college. There is not much left after all of this.
@@mocheen4837 You see so many people spending like they are wealthy around you. Wealth is what you keep, not what you spend. You have no idea how much debt those “wealthy” people have.
I have this just never knew there was a term for it. Live in constant fear of being “poor” & always feel like I don’t have enough, even with 6fig savings/investments. People give me a hard time about it, & say I stress too much about money, but it’s not as easy to overcome as you’d think.
It's so so difficult and we learn so many of these things from our parents & childhood. I definitely have found myself feeling the same way and so the 4th lesson in my book, "Give and you'll have more", has been the most difficult for me personally. But, I really encourage finding small ways to give, even non-financial ways, to slowly feel more abundance and less fear. And as that generosity is returned, you might find it begins to disappear altogether.
