I must visit TX. The variety is unbelievable!!!! The prices are competitive to Massachusetts. Aisles and aisles galore!! So much to see and so much to choose!! Nothing like that here in MA!! Chef Jeffrey, I’m amazed at how well stocked are the shelves. The varieties of foods are unbelievable. I can see why you shop at HEB. I wish we had one in my area. Our largest chain of grocery stores in my area is Ingles. Trust me, it pales in comparison to this store. My daddy did a commercial for Wonder Bread over 50 years ago. My husband and I grew up in San Antonio TX and grew up going to HEB, it’s been a few years we’ve been away from TX my husband is in the military we are stationed in Virginia. Thank you for taking us on a HEB tour, it’s just how we remember HEB we miss those fresh tortillas! They don’t have that in VA!

Chef Jeff this was a stroll down memory lane for me, I retired out of Ft Hood and love loved HEB. It’s to me the best grocery store in the world lol.. I do the same parking as you do,at the exit section of parking. Thanks for sharing.

HEB is still my favorite grocery store, even though I left Texas six years ago! My favorite item was the sushi and I really liked the HEB brand yogurt. Apple was my favorite flavor because it tasted exactly like apple pie without the crust! Thank you for the experience; I never shopped at an HEB plus.

Chef Jeffrey, I'm from Ohio and I visited my brother who lives in Cibolo outside of San Antonio, TX. I shopped with him at the H.E.B grocery store. I was shocked, literally blown away at the variety of food, wines,especially the meats. I from time to time order stuff by mail from H.E.B. Their history is also amazing. I bought some sliced pineapples and watermelon from Publix yesterday and it was actually pretty sweet. I was surprised by how sweet it was. I wish we had a H-E-B down here in Alabama

Hi chef. I grew up shopping at HEB with my mom in Corpus Christi, Tx. My brother still shops at HEB in Round Rock. It sort of prepped me for shopping here in so Cal suburbs where I live. Yes, even though chain stores exist here, they cater to their clientele also. I love the fresh foods , & enough quantities available during this pandemic 😷. Fresh, red meats are a must for me. So glad you took us shopping with you bc I’ve been missing going shopping the ethnic aisles, etc during this pandemic. I’ve been using Instacart bc of compromised lungs. Sure do miss & thank you again.

Jeffrey, I love to cook and love the rural area where I live in WV. But there are probably 25-30 grocery stores within a 50 mile radius of here with no ethnic stores. And all are either large or small chains. Pretty frustrating when you need some specialty ingredients for a recipe. You're lucky in that respect for sure. Really enjoy your channel!

Hey Chef. You made me remember bakery companies in Philly that I miss smelling their goods. Man, it’s been so long ago and I could still smell Nabisco factory, Michel’s Bakery that was 4 blocks ago from me. I would ride my bike there just to get a better smell. I also lived around the corner from Flair Bubblegum Factory. I loved smelling the candy.

HEB is the only thing I miss about Texas. And seeing goose for under $8.00/lb was unbelievable! If you can find goose at all here, it's a lot more than that. So many people are sending in pictures of empty shelves in the grocery stores, and it was wonderful to see that your store is about as well stocked as here in the Sacramento Valley. Thank you for a virtual trip back home.

Hey Chef, I really enjoyed this HEB shopping trip. I really liked the made to order meals. I agree everyone needs a break from cooking. Sometimes I don't even feel like warming up food at home, so I'll stop and pick up something to eat. Never heard of the "aisle of mercy"! 😃😆🤣

That os a good looking store, with lots of variety and looks clean. All that precut fruits n veg is not only more expensive, it harbors a ton of bacteria, e-coil, salmonella and such

I didn’t see any empty shelf’s in that store. Where I live in Missouri it’s fairly common to find empty areas on the shelf’s and have to settle for your second choice. That was a fine store you showcased.

I really enjoyed the day with you and I’m very impressed with the HEB store, would love to have a store like that here in Palm Coast.

Hi Chef Jeffrey, last year, I visited H.E.B. for the holidays with my daughter and my grandchildren and we went to the store in Houston. I was blown away by the beautiful store, beautiful household items displayed, the beautiful food selections, especially desserts display. H.E.B. reminds me of a mini upgraded Wal-Mart store.

Love HEB and I am so glad we are getting them back in the suburbs of Dallas. When I lived in Killen, Texas would always go to HEB and the one in DFW they closed them all and coming back to Frisco, Texas and can not wait! Agree about the watermelon Chef I do not touch it until June. Please do video on pheasant and ooh I hope when they open ours in 2022 they have rabbit! Good morning Chef I agree with you 100% about HEB that is one of my favorite stores. I shop at the one at 290 and Barker Cypress. One stone you forgot to mention was Food town their produce is a lot cheaper than HEB or Kroger. If I feel like hanging out I will go to Food town for my meats and vegetables. HEB for special items that I can’t find at any other store. Kroger for dairy products which today I will be going there to get 18 carton eggs for $.97 and I can buy up to five cartons in one purchase. All three stores are in the vicinity of my home so I’m not wasting gas going from store to store because they are all on my way home. I am a retired 27 years disabled vet so going shopping once a month is one of my joys and plus it’s just me that I have to shop for. Thanks for the ride to HEB!

I am so appreciative of you posting this. I was born and raised in the South but have lived in DC primarily as an adult (the actual city, not the outskirts). Grocery stores up here in Maryland and DC are nothing like this, so the fact you took time to take your followers on this tour is beneficial and educational. My oldest sister has lived in San Antonio since the 90s and always talks about the great deals on food down there. I’d shop at H-E-B if I lived down there. Thanks for this!

Thanks for the HEB tour. We don't have those here in Maryland where I am from. We do have Wegmans which I love and has everything. It is pricey but worth it.

HEB Plus is a larger version of its regular super market. The Austin area has two, I believe. Austin also has two Central Market stores, the upgrade version of HEB.

I'm with you on that self checkout Chef Jeffrey. I'm definitely not fond of that. Plus, I don't like it because it takes jobs away from people who depends on those jobs. But I know as time goes on there will be more self checkouts plus more robots. Those less fortunate are already struggling so I can't imagine what they're be forced to do then once that comes about. 🤔🥴
