I’ve been blind sense I was in the (5th grade) I was 11 I’m now 17 and a 12th grader and I still have to wear my glasses , my older half sister is really blind as well, I feel like it’s genetics.
my self-esteem in high school plummeted so bad because of this. idk if it's because we kept having classes without proper light or that i spent too much time on my phone, but at some point i couldn't see faces or the blackboard and i was often told that i was snobby because i never greeted people first. but that's because i couldn't see who they were at all! i remember crying to my mom to just buy me glasses :(
I felt that the last time i was able to see clear was my begging if my 5th grade year, I’m a senior in highschool now and I miss seeing clear on my own especially now that my eyes gotten worse and different on each side
Hi i love these animations that are uploaded. I would suggest to make videos and animations based on the final MBBS subjects, like Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynaecology. These videos have helped me a lot though. Thank you.👍🏻
Here is my story. Hope it helps and provides hope to many. I had stable -1 myopia for over 23 years. End of Jan 2023 I had an episode of "Primary Iridocyclitis of Right Eye". Used steroids and dilation drops. These did not improve but worsened the condition. After three weeks I stopped medications and went to tropical island. Hiked a lot and did eye exercises along with being in the sun all day. After 6 weeks my right eye still was weak and I saw things about 20% smaller than the left eye with glasses. But surprisingly after 7 weeks my right eye got better than left eye. I think now my right eye is near 20/20 maybe -0.25. I stopped using glasses after 23 years. The left eye still seems to be -1. I'm trying to continue exercises and reduce that as well. After seeing many articles about myopia from professionals who say it cannot be reversed I now feel like it can be reversed with a prolonged change in habits. Good luck everyone. Take care.
It can be reversed. It takes a change of habits and patience. I will not argue the science with someone because it is not my field. I just know my experience. I wore glasses for 25 years both eyes -2. I could only just read the 20/100 line with effort. Months of going outside focusing in the distance and I can now see the 20/20 in good lighting and the 20/30 line in artificial lighting. Taken me 6 months to get this far. Final hurdle is getting to 20/20 in artificial light. Lots of outdoor time and lots of focusing in the distance.
@@ChrisBennett-sj5pmis that a big imporvement in those 6 months? I'm not able to tell since I don't know how to read eye sight through numbers like a doctor would
Had myopia since I was 15. I take my glasses off on 3 occasions: 1. To take a bath. 2. To sleep at night. 3. When putting on a buttonless shirt, at times. When it started, I always asked my friends if they could see the "smoke" in front of them and they kept saying NO. Then I knew something was wrong. I miss my eyes though. I'm 23 now. I'm scared of surgery and all that stuff so imma stick to my GLASSES.
How can we cure this? is it necessarily to wear my glasses all the time? because ive usually not wearing it when i was home. Also, ive spending more time on phone screen for about 4hours or 8 hours in the dark room with no lights. Is this bad habit? How can i cure my eyesight? anyone please help
Bro fook them Glasses I’m about to get surgery on my left eye 👁 I’m blind literally like I’m farsighted in my Left ~eye it’s so aggravating .. but I’m bout to pay the price it’s vision yk so I’m invest in my sight I’m scared to no cap but i feel you I’m 22 btw .. vision been bad since 17 i wanna say .
Last night I tried these contacts (for myopia) that you wear at night. During the night they flatten the eyes so when you take them out you can see clearly. They also wear off over 3 days so your vision won’t be blurry by the end of the day. They also slow down the deterioration of your vision which I have a problem with so yeah.

I had it when I was around 7, I have been wearing glasses ever since, it's frustrating and so sad. My glasses are chunky, without them I'm literally blind 😭
One year before I was not even knowing the meaning of myopia... I was able to see all the far things without any blurriness, but slowly due to my online classes that I used to take in mobile now I am having myopia of power= -3 😭
There is a natural remedy that you can try. My friend saw it on another channel "Maa ki Advise" and suggested it to me. I started using it 3 days back and the results will be visible in 3 months. It's all natural and has no side effects.
Same. I want to the eye doctor just yesterday and was told that i'm a little nearsighted because of my right eye. So it's optional to wear glasses whenever I just feel bothered. Sadly for me at a certain distance I have a slight blur on tiny words so yeah
A short, simple and nice explanation. * Clinical classification of myopia: i. Low Myopia: Less than -3D ii. Moderate Myopia -3Dioptera to -6Diopters ii. High Myopia: More than -6Diopters Thank you..
Really disappointed to have glasses now, really good close up vision but can’t read the board because of being stuck in doors for a year and on my phone all night
Same i have to put some contacts dont wanna wear my glasses 😭😭 its really hard especiallly in a class if you dont have contacts just borrowing notes for copies 😥
22 years old and I’ve had bad eye sight for as long as I can remember. I think it’s something that’s held me back from achieving in life. I hope to get laser eye surgery this year and I hope everything goes well
@Jibon Sarkar means you have the option to wear it or not. In this condition, I'm assuming they probably meant for low myopia since he doesn't have to wear it because there is no essential need to if it's not blurry to the point he can't see much.
This year, I went in for my first eye test. Turns out I needed a small prescription for reading off the board/ PowerPoints etc . Went back yesterday and in just 6 months my vision decreased by 0.75 in my right eye and 0.5 in my left eye. In . 6. Months. It would continue to do that for years, so now I’m in glasses full time despite only having a -1.75 prescription.
Myopia, or nearsightedness is the condition when a person cannot see distant objects clearly without glasses. Nearsightedness is caused by focusing on close-up objects such as a book or a computer for long periods of time. The result is that the eyes get stuck in the close-up focus position and can no longer focus on distant objects. If we look inside the eye, we can see how this problem occurs. After focusing on close-up objects for extended periods, the focusing muscles in the eyes (which are called the "ciliary muscles") lock up. This results in the eyes becoming more and more elongated. Nearsightedness occurs when the eyes become overly elongated. When that happens, there is no turning back. The eye cannot go back to its previous shape. The ability to see distant objects clearly without glasses is lost forever. What can be done to prevent nearsightedness in a child? The key is to catch the problem as soon as the child experiences the very first sign of any difficulty seeing distant objects clearly such as the TV or the writing on the board at school. Ask the child from time to time if he or she can see distant objects clearly. For example, ask the child to read a distant road sign or a newspaper held up at a distance. If the child is having any difficulty at all seeing such objects clearly, that is the time to act. Don’t delay - otherwise there will be an irreversible overelongation of the eye. Usually, eye doctors will prescribe distance glasses for correcting blurred distance vision. The wearing of distance glasses aids the vision of myopes by bringing everything closer so that distant objects are within the range of focus. Unfortunately, distance glasses actually make nearsightedness worse and irreversible. This is because they force the focusing muscles to stay locked up. This in turn forces the eyes to further elongate, resulting in the need for stronger distance glasses as time goes by. The child is thus doomed to a lifetime of total reliance on distance glasses to see distant objects clearly and progressively worsening nearsightedness. Distance glasses are a false friend. There is an alternative - reading glasses. If a child starts wearing reading glasses for prolonged periods of reading and other close work at the first sign of any difficulty with distance vision, the focusing muscles will relax and cannot lock up. Reading glasses relax the eyes. There should be no further elongation of the eye. Distant objects can be seen without the need for any glasses. It is important to note that the child will not be reliant on reading glasses. They are simply a protective tool that should be used during long periods of close work. If strong enough reading glasses are used, nearsightedness should be prevented. It is important that the reading glasses be strong enough to completely eliminate all focusing effort (accommodation) when reading. Whenever close work is done without the protection of reading glasses, it is important to: 1. Hold the work as far away as possible. 2. Use as much light as possible in order to reduce the size of the pupil and, consequently, the accommodation. 3. Look into the distance frequently to relax the accommodation. What strength reading glasses should be prescribed? The rule of thumb is to prescribe plus lenses that are about 3 diopters more positive than the distance prescription, in other words a +3 "add." If the child is just moving into myopia, he or she might need a +3 lens. If the child is already a -1, he or she might need a +2 lens. This brings the limit of clear vision in to a typical reading distance of 33 cm or about 13 inches. Astigmatism is normally not corrected. It is essential to tell the child that when using the reading glasses, he or she should keep the object far enough away so that it appears very slightly blurred, but still legible. As the eye tries to clear this slightly blurred image, the maximum relaxing force is applied to the ciliary muscle. Can a child just use reading glasses bought at a drug store? No. A professional should be seen to obtain individualized advice. Drug store reading glasses are intended for adult-size heads. The distance between the lens centers conforms to the usual distance between the pupils of the adult head. If such glasses are used by young children, who have a smaller interpupillary distance, the "prismatic effect" of the lenses causes increased convergence. This can cause problems such as double vision and should be avoided. The distance between the child's pupils should be measured when the eyes are converging on a book. The centers of the eyeglass lenses should not be any farther apart than that distance. .
Such high production quality, but it would have made a slightly better impression if some of the nouns had articles in front of them. Not a big deal though.
i've had this since 4th grade, but at that time I didn't realize that I got nearsightedness until 7th grade (12 years old), when everyone face looks like a blur match at 10 meters, my myopia has increased to -1.75 both L and R, there's no other way than to get my glasses to see everyone face clearly, focus on studying. And now, I'm 23, my myopia is -4.75L, -3.75R, still has not stopped progressing (like 0.15 - 0.25 each year), I can't even have a nice meal without glasses. Back then when I was a little kid, I have perfect 20/10 eyesight, I can even see small stars at night, fireflies at pretty long range (over 100 meters)
@me I got glasses when I was 3rd grade and I remember I would ask my classmate what word was that on the board and I would get frustrated with him and at that point I knew something was wrong
Wow most of these symptoms I didn't even know of I've never had any trouble with eyesight until last year when I was 14 I started having a hard time seeing the board even when I was sitting in the front, so I just went to an optometrist, got a prescription and picked up my glasses, but they never really explained anything
Drink water not alcohol Me too. Actually, I realised that my vision wasn’t well while I was looking at the moon one night. Kept closing one eye and the other and the difference was shocking. I used to want to wear glasses, but I don’t anymore.😅 Plus them migraines, they’re the worst.
@@AliceLeChat SAME when I was little I wanted glasses and now I like picking out frames but wearing them is a hassle. I think I noticed way earlier but I didn't think anything of it, I'd look out my window at the moon and noticed it was blurry but I assumed it was because I was tired
It’s ok both of you. I had to tell me parents about my eyesight getting worse, and I got my glasses a while after. It’s so magical seeing the world with them. Trust me, it is worth it and if you really don’t want glasses, you can always get prescription contacts :)
@@shellij3119 i have plans to tell my parents about my eyesighy getting worse but i am too scared to tell them i think we will all argue about it.... Please give me some advice....🙁
Anyone else in agreement the "fixes" seem terrifying. My sight is getting progressively worse and worse and I don't want to resort to surgery. I don't suppose anyone can suggest anything other than surgery to help me and others. Please. I appreciate everything that I can see so much.
I've been diagnosed with myopia a few years ago. Good thing the myopia isn't too bad (50.00 L, 75.50 R), yet it still sucks. I need to wear glasses when going out in the public to see better. When I wear them for a day my ears hurt like hell.
Have seen a lot of videos, learned from teacher and studied in book....and finally not cleared the concept........but now i have understood concepppptually in this video
I have really bad nearsightedness. When I pull back on my eyes and squint a certain way I can see clear without my glasses. Is this because of the curvature of my eyeball?
I’m gonna have to go to get my eyes checked again I guess, last time I went they said that I have an lazy eye and that my eye muscles in my left eye are weak. Lately I have been having trouble seeing things farther away from me, constant headaches and my lazy eye seems to be getting worse. I had no idea that “lazy eye” could be a symptom of myopia, so I’m guessing I could be developing myopia..
What about natural eyesight improvement like Jake Steiner's approach? There's nothing strange about it. It's like recovering muscle strength while using crutches only we use eye crutches. It's like physical therapy only it's reducing the lens power gradually while keeping healthy eye habits. Search for his videos.
I have this. I don’t mind wearing glasses but the fear of not being able to see without a device or help is scary 😔 like in emergency situations and for some reason I can’t reach my glasses or contacts.. not seeing clearly is a serious thing!
I have short sightedness and my parents told me the optometrist said it was due to me being a gamer because the optometrist used words I didn't understand but I believe I heard that one of my eyes were oddly shaped, there gonna get it when they find out what you've told me (not in a bad way, I'm just gonna roast em)
Saber 22 I also have short-sighted vision along with astigmatism and I am 23 and it appeared at my 21 and I used to play a lot of games. The ophthalmologist, said myopia has existed before TV and computers even existed. They can't figure out why it happens, but the computer screens or TV have zero effect on that. It has to do with the electrical signals inside the eye that transmit the image to the brain for information and processing. I wear my glasses all day because if I don't I see blurry and I get headache sometimes because my eye tries to adjust. Helps a lot.
Another theory to the cause of myopia is due to spending most of your time indoors. Your eyes are not being exposed to natural light and being indoors you tend to focus on things that are near at you, thus not having to exercise your eye muscles focusing on further distances.
Im 21, I never wore glasses and always have 20/20 vision but when I was 20 my vision started getting worse and now im near sided and have to wear glasses

My prescription says that I am near sighted in my left eye with a partial astigmatism. I can see very far in both eyes with no problems without glasses. Very confusing
Because it could be low. I started with a very low prescription and in fact I didn't realize I had a visual problem until my teacher noticed that I couldn't see from the back of the classroom what she write. This was 10 years ago now I'm not able to recognize a face without glasses.
ive been searching for this video cause, ive been suffering this since i was really young, and my parents thought it was all about gadgets that broke my eyes, and i only applied glasses when I was 12
@@jamesarmecinepe2531 I am not saying it was surely due to gadgets, I said excessive near work is one cause of myopia. #Genetic is another factor: If both parents are myopic. children's have 33-60% risk to develop myopia. If one parents is myopic 10% risk to develop myopia Even if, No parents are myopic still 5% risk to develop myopia.
I have myopia since i was in 5th grade and ever since then i was always told by people that i am being a snob for not recognizing them from a distance whenever they would see me.
Don't listen to them, they are not the one with this eye condition, I got my glasses when I was 5 and have been wearing it for more nearly 9 years. If someone makes fun of you for it, its not your choice to have this condition and just tell them to shut up

Using myopia glasses just a bit lower/weaker than what u need is enough to help reduce/reverse myopia? The eye see almost fine but force him self on getting better, every time the glasses get good enough, u change for new one just a bit weaker, util u dont need they anymore?
I am short sighted and I hate it so much. I hate wearing my glasses because my vision gets worse. Not only that I've been picked on in middle school which caused me to have a low self esteem when I wear my glasses. I look so ugly sometimes I get angry about it..
I started wearing glasses in middle school. I don't know why I became short sighted but I wish I had a normal vision. I am currently saving my money to go to laser eye center. Hopefully my vision goes back to normal.
That is why we shouldn't play games for continuous hours each day. Take a break every 1 hr .Short sightness is permanent and gets worst as you grew older.

My dumbass was too ignorant to get glasses so I went to school without vision correction and now my grades are bad. I wore glasses and contacts the other day and it felt like a whole new experience seeing the world crystal clear😂
Just so you know myopia does not mean that.... It's two words, "mys" (pronounced like "me" with an s) which means muscle and from the ancient word "oróo" (which means "see" and in present perfect it's "ópopa" [it's an irregular verb], hence the letter p in myopia). I hope I covered you with the etymology and if need anything else please let me know!!!
I don't NEED my glasses unless I'm in school because my right eye is worse than my left. My left eye I slightly nearsighted but not enought to notice yet. Will it get worse over the years?
I’m in the same situation well the thing is I can not see that well without glasses but I can still go to the store and do stuff normally but when it comes to school it will be impossible without glasses
2:43 MY PARENTS THOUGHT I WAS CRAZY when my eyes started doing this i went to the docter today and they diagnosed me with it today but I think it’s because when I was little I would use to stare at the sun a lot and when I do tic toks of my eyes I use flash and it not good
Lasik can correct myopia by flattening the cornea (making it less steep). This allows the light entering the eye to shift backwards and hit the retina, creating clear visiom
Orthokeratherapy is an alternative treatment to day lenses and glasses Putting sand bag on the eyes during the night can help to stabilize and enhance short-sightedness
I'm suffering from same problem but haven't been able to purchase glasses. This has made me stop schooling cos I can't see from afar or writing on the board I wish I can purchase glasses and go back to school again.
I've been wearing glasses since 6th grade so I was 11 or 12 (now I'm 26) though, I felt it began way before that. And I can't see small text even wearing glasses, I think I need to change it.
I have myopia since a several months after when covid-19 has started, Now my vision in a distant object that I can see are getting blurry blurry and blurry. So i need to keep my phone away for a one month (by exercising). Does that help my myopia be naturally cure?
Hi there!! Please get an eye examination from an optometrist so you can get an accurate diagnosis of your vision problem. Myopia can be corrected with glasses, contact lenses, or surgery, and just keeping your phone away will NOT solve your vision problems. Getting the right diagnosis and prescription is what you really need or your vision may get worse and other problems may arise so let's prevent that. Hope that helps dear, stay safe and healthy!
I have blurred vision from birth but didn't know that I have minus power and it get worse to minus 6 left and minus 7 right in my 7th age I know that I have this power after visiting doctor.
I firmly believe the phone and computer screens are the major causes of developing myopia. To slow the myopia I think the best thing is to avoid watching tvs ,computers, cell phones.
@@siyuul No. I think for better eyesight you should be using your computer/phone as least as you can. Not all people get myopia as heredity. Like some people are born with defects in their eyes but not every patient of myopia;. Like for example I have myopia but mine wasn't caused by the heredity.
I have been facing this problem since 5 years.I can't see any objects and letters with more distance. But when i was 5,6 years old i can see all objects with many distance.😢
