I didn't go until I was an adult. We would drive from around Baton Rouge, La to Branson. For a few years in a row I'd go with my Mama and my favorite Aunt. The best year was when we were able to take my grand-daughter. Mama passed in 2016, so Silver Dollar City will always hold a very special place in my heart! Thank for the Memories!!!🤩😘

You and your Dad…..makes me miss mine. He and my Mom have passed several years ago but I did have some fun times with them. Glad you are enjoying this day out with your Dad. I grew up on The Sons of the Pioneers. Years later I would live in the same Area as Roy Rogers and Dale Evans. I never meet them,I always seemed to miss them...they were very prominent in the community as well as a large museum, unfortunately now gone. But we still have Roy Rogers avenue,Happy trails highway and Dale Evans parkway....

I first started watching your channel a few years ago when I found one of your Silver Dollar City videos. The SDC/Branson videos are still my favorites. I agree that Grandfathers Mansion is a must do every single trip, and I see that you and I ride the same rides every time. My favorite parts of the park are the food, shows and the atmosphere, it's a great place to just hang out. I'm always telling friends to go down every path, there's something to see down every one. My favorite festivals are 1-Olde Time Christmas, 2- Harvest Festival/Pumpkins, 3- Bluegrass & BBQ. I'll be going back at least two more times this year.

I used to work at Dollywood which is the version of your silver dollar city. Which is what ours used to be called. Their fire in the hole is what our blazing fury is. Not sure if ours is being updated. Lol. I loved all the rides and still do.

Thanks for sharing this. I loved the glimpses into the crafts and some of the older attractions. I grew up 40 miles south of Branson, I went to Silver Dollar City as a child in the 1960's and many times since. It is such a fun theme park experience, with a few encounters with genuine Ozark culture along the way. It just keeps rolling on with changes in workers and rides over time. The thing that touched about your video is that you talked about the retirement of a beloved entertainer at the beginning, but near the end you mentioned the emerging 18 year old fiddler who impressed you. Mary is the product of an effort in north Arkansas to preserve authentic Ozarks culture. Much like Rhonda Vincent in the late 70's, the young fiddler is just passing through SDC on her way to future country music stardom. SDC is like an old tree that bears fresh blossoms and new fruit every year.

I definitely agree! It’s very nice to see the talent that has come through over the years that I have seen that has used Silver Dollar City as a place to share their talents. Beloved entertainers, who have stuck around, I’ve been a part of all of our lives as we have visited and I think that it’s very important to not only acknowledge the impact that they have had but also to celebrate their legacy at the park which I think that Silverdollar city does very well.

We love SDC and the fun there. Some of the roller coasters are great, but for some of us bigger girls, I don’t fit in many of the cars. We were there in the fall last year and weee treated to the Halloween decorations. It was just fantastic. Obviously, we aren’t the only ones that enjoy the park

Some things were still the same. Have not been in years but hope to see the new fire district when it is ready I remember them building the Fire in the Hole. Wow, it does Not seem that long ago! Thanks for bringing back memories! Luv ya, love your channel ❣️ 🎡🎠⛲🪕🎻🚂🌭

Yes, and no… the Ozark based Silver Dollar City does have an 1800 steam however, they lean heavily on their geographic location as well because it was a time where there were a lot of homesteads and things like that so everything in park is completely themed.

Looks like they haven't commercialized there. I like the old style of hillbillies.

They definitely have commercialized however, they’re also still built on traditional values that the park originally was founded upon. The theming and sticking to that particular time frame is something that does definitely said it apart. But at the same time there are very modern things such as some of the most highly spoken about roller coasters in the nation. And they do still have conveniences that are common such as Starbucks lol.

They have some great coasters also.. but the water rides are perfect for this time of year still with all the heat
