Minister Dollar. It may be helpful to further distinguish between the old covenant and the new covenant in terms of receiving eternal salvation (faith vs obedience to the law) and everyday practical living and conduct (walk by the Spirit and not the flesh). Although God has promised us He will empower us to do his will (and we need to believe this) he also calls on us to 'act' and 'do' according to the measure of faith received. He will complete the inner work of our salvation (sanctification), but our human actions and the good works they produce are equally as important, not so much as in for the receiving of righteousness/salvation (it is a gift) but in the proving out of the genuineness of our status as children of God. How can we know for sure if we have received or is currently receiving the GRACE of God in our lives? According to the (biblical) meaning of grace, GRACE is meant to help us live HOLY LIVES (after) getting born again.
