Have you heard of anyone getting headaches after using?! Does anyone get headaches after using olaplex? I just did no 0 and no 3 tonight and followed with the shamp/cond and smoother/oil. Super bad headache and I never get headaches...

thank you for this! •• my stylist raved about this product, so I was curious, especially since I wanted to go super platinum •• after heavily weaving my hair I swear Olaplex healed it, so well my hair was healthier AFTER than before 😳 •• seriously the most beautiful platinum! I've never had my hair pull this blonde so quickly! My hair is shiny + baby soft now, which is crazy after bleaching the hell out of it! So worth it ❤️

Hi I'm a retired hairdresser and I was doing hair at home with a few clients, friends and I have always loved hair color. So now with everything that's happening I have not been doing anything but I know when everything calms down I'm going to be trying different things and I'm obsessed with all the highlighting and Balayage tutorials. I bought a human hair mannequin and so I'm ready to try the actual service on the doll head before I do it on a real client. BTW you are so so good at being a teacher, professional. I spent a lot of time in classes, workshops, hair shows, the whole hair circuit and you are so inspiring and so nice to listen to. I love doing hair still and want you to know how much I enjoy listening to you. You are the BEST. Ok my question.. Which Olaplex should I buy when mixing it with the hair bleach?...Thank You Mark Silvia...

My stylist used Olaplex on me multiple times to go blonde. My hair was almost black (virgin hair) with the exception of a quite brassy ombre that I had done myself... Once they began using Olaplex I was able to achieve a light, beautiful, cool/ashier blonde and I really don't think it would have been possible without Olaplex! I have heard so many horror stories of hair breaking off but mine wasn't even unhealthy. I would recommend it to anyone. Worth the money in my opinion !!!

I live in a small town and I am not a hair stylist. So just as a client I've known about Olaplex for a couple of years now. I have very difficult to manage hair, it's porous, I am mostly white/grey, and my hair is curly/frizzy so I am always on the hunt for products that will improve my hair's condition. I am seriously frustrated with the lack of knowledge of Olaplex in salons in my area (even when I go to the next couple of bigger cities over). Currently I see a stylist who has been in practice for a great many years, I assumed she would have a great deal of knowledge of color, cuts, products, etc. I feel like this person has not expanded on her education, skills, or knowledge since they went to cosmetology school a very long time ago. Still cuts with scissors straight across, flat iron appears to be a decade old, doesn't seem to know the difference between "warmth" and "dark or light". And I feel like if I mentioned Olaplex they wouldn't have the slightest clue. I tried this salon because it's one of the only ones I could find that offered permanent straightening services in my area. Everyone else only offers keratin treatments, which are great but they are not strong enough to straighten my very stubborn curl. I color/highlight my hair often to keep my greys covered so I know how damaging having those services are when they done frequently. But I've never left a salon with my hair feeling as bad as it does now after having visiting this new stylist I'm seeing. My hair is on the coarser side but now it seriously feels like straw in some places especially my ends. I get a cut every time I see this person in hopes of circumventing my ends being so bad after they've colored or straightened my hair. But then they use their ancient flat iron after the cut and I feel like it just fries my ends. I want to suggest Olaplex to them in hopes my hair wouldn't end up in such damage but is that crossing a line to suggest something to your stylist? I don't want them to feel insulted, it's not my goal to be negative but I don't know how to suggest they brush up on education and knowledge and not sound that way. I should probably find a new stylist but then I lose the only one in my area that will do a straightening process. Then I'm afraid I'll get so desperate I'll try to DIY it at home.

Just had an olaplex treatment done. Didn't go nuts with it, just went 2 shades lighter and I was surprised to actually feel no big difference :/ I mean, no miracle like I expected. Maybe it will be more obvious tomorrow..The colour is beautiful though, no brass without toner. Now I wonder how people go from dark to platinum with no breakage even with this treatment.

I went platinum about 4, maybe 5 years ago & only did my roots after the initial whole head lightening. (And I'm about a natural level 7) So after a few years with toning involved & "life" happening to my hair, it dulled. So I then heard about olaplex a couple months ago, & was able to pull the lightener all the way to the ends to lighten it up a little back to where it used to be & it worked amazingly! No hair loss & no damage! My hair felt better after using it! Best invention for hair ever!

@wordgrrl71 Olaplex is a patent product therefore nothing on the market does the same thing unless it's an illegal counterfeit. From what I understand it does something unique to other products, rebuilding the destroyed disulfide bonds from damage via chemical services. Coconut oil does not do that nor does any brand product that claims to be similar, it can't be, the patent is approved, it's one of a kind.

I have 3B High Porosity somewhat fine hair. To make a long story short I was 60% gray and decided to go blonde 3 years ago (from dark brown) by only dying my hair twice. First with box dye L'Oreal Paris Couleur Expertise 2 n 1 Ginger Twist. Then a few weeks later I followed up with L"Oreal Paris Superior Preference Light Golden Reddish Blonde 9GR which I love so much. Seemed so easy. Too easy. I did not even have to tone it as I enjoyed the reddish hue. I continued 9GR only 2xs a year to be safe. Everything was fine for the first year but by the second year I lost more than 50% of my hair! So I stopped dying it altogether for the last year and a half and my entire head is completely different. It completely stopped growing, curls are straight in some areas and wow so much frizz! Even my part is different and you can see through to my scalp everywhere. I have tried many at home protein/moisture treatments and I feel like my hair will never be the same. I am angry with L'Oreal (even though some of you may laugh) because I feel I did not do anything to cause such drastic hair loss. My hair was mostly gray and took to the color quite easily. I did not over dye it and thought I kept it moisturized. I also used L'Oreal Paris Expertise Evecreme Nourishing Leave in. BIG MISTAKE as this I eventually learned has corrosives and alcohol in it which I believe now was the nail in the coffin. To put salt and alcohol in a leave in is just insanely cruel. I will never buy another L'Oreal product as long as I live. Can Olaplex help me? I am assuming Olaplex wears off just like dye and needs to be re-done. If I stop Olaplex after 1 or two treatments will my hair revert? Anyone can dye their hair blonde and think everything is fine until a year down the road, what proof is there that Olaplex even works? Box dye conditioners can give you the appearance your hair is healthy until you stop using them, is Olaplex the same way? I don't suppose you would be honest in answering but maybe someone will learn from my painful mistakes.

Apricot curls, I really sorry reading this, I thought maybe hormonal change or premenopause? Because you already have gray hairs you said and the hair structure is also changing? Maybe go to hair specialist who can analyze your hair and see what the cause is. I hope you soon find the cause. Let's know something, good luck

because I use direct dyes and have pink and blue hair I have had my hair Platinum for five years. I can tell you that bleaching your hair really does completely damage it, I used to have very very long hair that was about down my butt, I used to color my hair a very light blonde when my hair was long. growing out bleached hair is very hard. I have tried all olaplex strengthening treatment a few months ago, and at first I didn't think it did anything, but after I had the treatment done I realize that my hair is much easier to brush it out and does not get nearly as Tangled as it used to. I still believe the best way to take care of extremely lighten hair is to invest in good hair products. if you have platinum hair you should probably not use any kind of heat on your hair. the following is a list of essential products I believe I've helped me regrow my hair and keep it healthy. I cleansing conditioner, a deep condition Masque, a leave-in conditioner, argan oil or macadamia nut oil to use as a serum, and a protein treatment. the reason why didn't include a regular conditioner or shampoo, is because I use a deep Masque as normal conditioner, and I use cleansing conditioner because it's not nearly a stripping as most shampoos. just because shampoo is sulfate free does not mean it's not stripping away your natural oils. I find it's best to use cleansing conditioners because they do not ladder. cleansing conditioners of helps keep my hair vibrant in color as well as moisturized and gently cleansed.

I have been reading up on this and finding that some people are saying that the effects wear off over time. Perhaps it's a bit like silicones making your hair feel better but in actual fact not repairing it in any way. I am curious to hear from people who have been using Olaplex over some time. Hair always looks and feels great when you leave the salon. Notsomuch after.

I would literally pay you to come to Scotland to help my hair. I didn't even damage it myself I look after my hair so much, after losing weight like a lot my hair started to fall out.. I went to a hairdresser and they completely ruined my hair and it breaks my heart because I'm now scared to go to another hairstylist 😩😩

Same here, my hairstylist literally burned my hair when doing blond .... I had to cut it short and had to color it as the same color as my roots and now I'm patiently waiting to do blonde again ... It has been a year ... 😅

There are great products in the UK. You just have to research. My stylist charged me a fortune, and my hair was full of breakage. It's because they want you in and out to make money fast. You are better off doing research, and practicing on strands of your hair until you get it down perfectly. You can go slower, condition heavily, use a gentler method for bleaching, and be much happier with the results of blonde and healthy hair results.

Hairdressers should be like you, kind, detail oriented and to love women's hair so much that they do their best to achieve the most beautiful results. My problem is that where I live, I have tried twice to have an in salon olaplex n.1 and n.2 therapy, but both times the ratio was wrong (they put 30 ml n.1 in 90 ml water when they should have put 15 ml n.1 in 90 ml water). I was disappointed that both hairdressers didn't pay attention to my comments and I still had to pay 40 euros each time. My hair was left dry and they told me that they couldn't apply any hair mask at my hair after shampoo. They are not properly educated and it is bothering me that I can't do this treatment on my own, except n.3.

I work at Sally's and we have an alternative to Olaplex by Ion called the "Absolute perfection booster". I havent tried it yet but there's been awesome feedback on it and I'd definitely suggest it if you can't get your hands on olaplex

Nope all the dupes are nowhere near the same nor can they be since the olaplex formula is patented ... nothing on the market today does what it does ....

As you know to get platinum a lot of bleach is required. For women wishing to embrace their natural gray, they often look for highlights to disrupt the "demarcation" line. And of course blonde doesn't look that great with gray. Do you think Opalex would be a decent option for this approach to transitioning without harming the hair? And, #2, does it require upkeep or salon servicing as time goes on? Thanks - you're lookin' great BTW.

You didn't really talk about what the #2 & #3 do. If the #1 does all the heavy lifting (i.e. bond building), what new notable thing do the other two bring? What is bond "perfecting"?

Dear Sylvia! I have a question - Have you ever used together Olaplex with CHI Ionic products? I was thinking about making a sombre/baleyage with Olaplex and Ichi light blond dyed. Which other dyed you use in your salon? I love Your haircolor and tutorials

I am curious also about Olaplex and gray hair. From what I've learned about coloring and some gray hair, if you have coarse gray hair it actually helps to color it because breaking down the bonds of the hair softens the gray hair. If that's true, would using Olaplex step no. 3 reverse the softened affect? Because it rebuilds the broken down bonds right? I am probably 70% gray on top and in front, and maybe 50% in back and underneath and I get my hair colored and highlighted often to cover my grays. I want my grays to be softened in texture so they are more manageable. I want to try Olaplex step no. 3 at home but if it's going to reverse the softened affect maybe I shouldn't?

Great Vid. What do you guys who have used Olaplex on clients or use it yourselves think it smells like? (No. 2 and 3 since 1 doesn't really have a scent imo) Like its so familiar to me but I can't put my finger on it random but It bugs me every time lol

Due to my fine texture I can use Clairol Maxi box color and fenola shapoo as a toner to be platimum. Olaplex is CRAZY AMAZING!!! PS. For my sisters who use bleach and it burns your scalp I will tell you a big secret: HAVE THEM ADD 2 PACKS of those pink sweet and low packets to the bleach. NO MORE BURNING SCALP. OF ALL THINGS...sweet and low. ps. If your texture is fine and dense like mine your hair will take color much faster and you do not need bleach. Get the highest lift box color and tone it with BLUE, silver, and or purple. If you have thick strands bleach will take forever and only lift to dayglow orange...and you have to reprocess it again (this happened to my friend and her hair broke off at her chin). If you Bleach YOU NEED Olaplex not to have damage and breakage. I always uses good conditioners as why my hair is big and long...actually years back when I bleached it at the salon it would only take 15min to lift to butter yellow and be toned for 5 min and then got blown out huge and white. Pls consider your hair texture because we are all different. My hair grows out brown from my scalp but a week in Fl sun changes that quick even if I wear my natural color.
