In my opinion, I don't think it is the right move because high end don't have much margins for ARM CPU when x86 is so well established in the high end market. What needs ARM is the laptop range that critically needs low power usage with sufficient processing power. High end desktop PC has all the power available to them hence the benefits of ARM is not that pronounced.

@EnochGitongaKimathi the 12 cores on M3 Pro (6+6) is not the same like the 12 cores on X Elite, i mean even if the 12 power cores can reach a draw, that is not really a victory.. 12 adults only can tie against 6 adults and 6 childrens in power, like a tug of war, is that really a victory? Also those benchmarks was fabricated by Qualcomm, they obviously want to show tjat their chip is not bad, but based on the leaked power consumption, it's clearly visible they not used the same type of chip (X Elite had 23W peak and 23W sustained power consumption, aka it had a cooler, Bacis M3 not just had 4 less cores /and in total of 8 less power cores/, but it was just the fanless version with 19W peak and 8W sustained power consumption.. so do you think the extra cooler on X Elite did not helped them to show us better benchmark results..?) When will finally realeas, users will compare them by price tag.. i mean if the X Elite comes with $2000+ laptops, noone will compete that with the cheapes Macbook, they will compete it the $2000 Macbook too...

@@TamasKiss-yk4st if you are going to war and you can only spare 6 professional soldiers and 6 civilians, can you really complain it is not a fair fight because the other side brought 12 professional soldiers? The M3 family of processors has the advantage of being manufactured on a more advance process node. Qualcomm is not just challenging them on performance but also on efficiency. Meaning with just Performance Cores and a less advanced process node they beat them on efficiency. The 23W is not the TDP of the chip but the TDP of the entire system. The Snapdragon X Plus will be competitive in terms of price.

Because they were announced before M3 was announced. That last part is up to Windows and Microsoft but let's hope Microsoft does their part here 🤞

They never ever showed you a result agains the M2 Max, they always used the basic M2 and M3, sometimes when the result was not painfull for them, you got some M2 Pro or M3 Pro result, but if Apple also has more than 6 power cores agains their 12 power cores, they just simply not show you the results.. They announced the chip before M3, but M3 already on the market, and when the first X Elite laptop avaliable to buy, Apple just can do the same trick.. here is our M4 against the X Elite and you can purchase this 6 months later...

Everything is gonna get better now. Both ARM and x86 will be well supported so this will manufacturers on both sides to improve performance. More competition than before.

@@Bibbatron Microsoft already can't handle just x86 and they fuck up something new every week with windows. And they tried arm on the surface X and it was terrible.

You don't need to worry about that.. do you remember why the Windows Phone died..? Because nobody made apps for a device with under 5% market share.. so users leaved the platform.. i mean without tons of money paid for the developers, this can be repeated.. why they should ignore the 95% user just to reach the 5% at max..

@@niks660097 because the oryon is CPU&GPU vs rtx 2060 which is just a GPU of course its faster, and since the oryon is for laptops. Betting 100% its going to be more efficient than the 2060 and provide better battery life
