I'm on it for T2D and trying to get off it with MD plan. It hasn't made me lose weight, and hasn't lowered my appetite. I think it's crazy that the max dosage for a diabetic patient is 1 mg per week, while people taking it for weight loss can take 1.5 mg/week (or 2.5 mg in the study Cyrus mentioned!!). That's messed up.

It has helped me to get better bloodsugar levels, its primarily for diabetes not weightloss.

The minute Cyrus said that Ozempic slows the movement of food through the digestive tract, I thought nope, not doing that.

I was on Ozempic for at least a year, then off it for a while. I am T2D. I felt good while on Ozempic but the dr and I decided to have me go off of it because we thought that I could manage my blood sugar levels with a WFPB diet.😊 I actually suggested a WFPB diet to my dr and he agreed that my levels were low enough (6.0) that I absolutely could do it without medication. You are right, Cyrus, I gained some of my weight back and I could not figure out why I gained the weight back when I was eating WFPB. Now I realize that you are right! It was most likely the medication. My A1C went up to a 6.5 and then to a 7.0 after I was off the Ozempic and I became a little relaxed in my eating. Now I am back on track, managing my T2D and my weight with a healthy WFPB lifestyle along with exercise and I am loving it!

I'm unclear as to why it has to be an either/or question. Can a person not take Ozempic AND change thier diet?

Im considering this. I started with glipizide, really lowered my blood sugar, but its hard on the organs, when i started glipizide i changed my diet, no sugar, no caffeine, no soda, low carbs, i tested foods to see how my sugar reacted. So im eating the right thing. Lost 14 pounds in a month on glipizide, hard to do. But since its hard on the organs and doesnt address insulin resistance we switched to metformin, honestly it raised my sugars but didnt have the swings in glucose glipizide did. So steady results but to high. I cant exercise much because i need 2 knee replacements. I need to lose 15 more pounds to get that done. So im considering this option. Ive already beat the diet thing, ive never smoked, never drink alcohol, and never use any type of chewing tobacco or recreational drugs. Problem is most of my life was eating sugar and carbs, thats fixed but im still living with the results. I would like to fix my knees. Then basketball, golf, hiking things i used to love to do will be available to me again. I dont see weight management being a problem after i can move. I believe that since ive already changed my diet, that may decrease my chances of gaining weight after i stop it. Then exercise would take over after my knee surgery. Obviously i need my glucose and A1C to be in line, but being at the correct weight will help with that, plus using ozempic seems like it will make intermittent fasting easier. Im trying, it isnt easy. But i dont see anyway to get healthier without the knee surgery, i have to use the walls and counters to move around my house.

Thanks for the "heads up " Cyrus. I'm not tempted...been cruisin' toward my good weight quite nicely applying Whole Food Plant protocol....even with a moderate food/emotional addiction flaring up every now & again! This is good to know if I am in contact with others who might want to go the drug route. I can be the " Canary in the coal mine" if need be! Have a Ko Ko life !(Ko Ko means "Keep on keepin' on"-These days that can be freakin good enough!!)🥰

I’m at the 2mg.dose losing weight via nausea and acid reflux. There’s a lot to be said about the plant based approach to diet…it’s just tough to adhere to.

I made empanandas often in 2019 and the early part of 2020. Vegan ones of course but they have Crisco in the crust. I stood on the scale in March 2020 and cried because it was the second time in my adult life that I weighed over 125. I was 128 at 5 foot 5 inches so I was fat again. I am middle aged. I bought your book and watched Chef AJ. I don't always eat clean and feel like I am always struggling with the last 9 pound but I did lose weight. I don't understand why a lot of people let themselves get so big.

My friend tells me that she could not lose weight with healthy eating and exercise. Ozempic cured her T2D not weight loss. She is eating same smount of food before and after. I am super happy for her as she suffered T2D. She told me that she was blaming herself for so long. Some say calories in caliries out do not work for sone people? Although Ozempis is proving so( people eat less?) It is super hard for me not to eat junk food (live potato chips🤣) Something so addictive!! Also i eat for comfort sometimes not hungry.
