Awesome content thanks. My wife wants a new chest of drawers but the 18mm birch plywood is insanely expensive now. I've found spruce ply for 1/3 the price from a reputable supplier. If well finished could this be my solution to create our 'heirloom' piece??!
Hi There. Thank you very much for your content. I have a few questions. I am looking to use wood in an application where it will come into contact with food. I need to know what Plywood is glued together with. I am also looking at different finishes as well. The target market I am looking at is incredibly pedantic about what their food come in contact with. 2 finishes that I am looking at are, Beeswax and coconut oil. (I realise that coconut oil can go rancid in theory, but I have been using Coconut oil on my Personal cutting boards and tables for years and have not noticed any problems.) Do you guys have a Cape Town branch or are you affiliated with anyone here?
Hi Gordon, thanks for your comment and questions. The best option for finish would be Osmo TopOil we have it in stock in our Cape Town warehouse, 30 Gunners Cir, Goodwood. You can also give Gareth a call on 083 278 8077 or 021 385 3157.
