Amazing. Thank you for making this video! It will be extremely helpful when getting colleagues up to speed with Power BI in my organization. We are very early in the journey so this type of content can have a big impact. Love it!
Your channel comes recommended so I look forward to checking out your videos. I started a new job this fall and I am coming from Qlik and have not used Power BI but it looks like an interesting tool! Here's to getting proficient ASAP!
Hi, is it possible to use excel pivot table as a data source for powerbi and every time I change something in my excel pivot table, this will be reflected in my powerbi when refreshed ? My excel pivot table is connected to our GL therefore I have always the updated data and slicer attached to it. Thank you for your time.

There's your 1k of likes. Just browsing what sort of gunk I need to learn in order to get back into the workforce after 13 years absent due to family carer duties. Last time I was doing this to data I reckon I was still using qbasic haha
Hi guys. In one of your videos I saw a reference to a book for the star schema model. Can you please tell me which is that book? I can't find the video
@@GuyInACube - hopefully really profound but also from the basics.. Usage of the reports, list of report/workspace - users, monitoring capacity, user activity...
Hey I need a help with DAX column creation. I have a table with process (over 1000 types), tool type(3 types) and cost as columns. I want to find the cheapest tool type and the corresponding cost for each process. How can I do it easily
Hello ! I stumble upon this video searching for powerbi, powerbi ga4. How can I create dashboards using GA4 data, but not with the connector. Maybe with BigQuery where the raw data is. Is there any good tutorial? I just know how to do dashboards with GA4 connector and Looker Studio. But recently I have to use PBI. Thanks
There has to be a video or tutorial somewhere to go from an expert in pq/pp/dax studio in excel to power bi. Obvious things like how do I connect ds to powerbi or where do I click to edit my measure or how do I make slicers. I'd say the same thing with tableau, but that doesn't exist. Tableau is another world.
Can you please also add some kind of number on the subject line of the video. For example you mentioned as what is power bi 2021. Along with that if possible please add the index for these video for example what is power bi 2021 episode - 1 and then so on. So that we can get the proper connection of your content and it will be very helpful to track or progress of the video.
I have some thought provoking questions: 1. What is the difference between Power Query (in Excel) vs. Power BI? 2. What is the connection between Power Query (not the PQ in Excel, just PQ in general because apparently it connects somehow to Power BI) and Power BI?
while Power Query is a powerful tool for cleaning and shaping data in Excel, Power BI offers more advanced data modeling, visualization, and collaboration capabilities that make it a better choice for business intelligence and reporting needs.
Hi Guy in a Cube, love your video's! Question about the search function in a slicer. Why can you only search for values in a slicer when the data type is text? You can add (download) a text filter search visual but it only can search for text not numbers. Is there another way to search easy one number a range of numbers (i.e. contract number), like excel. There are other options you can choose in the slicer in order to find a selection of numbers, but it not an easy way to find one specfic contract number. Is there not a better search visual in PowerBI that looks and works better than is available right now? Can you change the word 'seach' in the text filter visual to another language by the way? Thanks a lot!
Appreciate the kind words! EDU Pricing is available but not easily through a direct buy. The Power BI Pricing page has a note at the bottom about Academic, government and non-profit pricing available at this link: www.microsoft.com/en-us/nonprofits/power-bi It is geared for non-profit, but worth investigating. The other option would be to go through a Microsoft Sales rep.
We have the Pro version in our healthcare organization. I am trying to connect Power BI to a PDF table with 68,000 records, but it times out after taking forever to attempt the connection. This is something that Tableau can handle within minutes. What could be the issue?
Hi, thank you for your helpful video. I have a question about a suitable chart type for a specific scenario: A company has many branches in 30 countries. What is the best chart type that can represent their profit over ten years in all those countries?
model-driven apps require a common data service database a flow instance can only access one common data service database canvas apps require a common data service database
as a intersexual bisexual i can confirm, that power BI is one of the greatest things ever made! it really POWERS up you're BI and honestly if everyone were a POWER BI user, the world would be a much different place.
I have just had to start using it as an end user and I effing hate. Hate the platform, the look, the feel (looks like a schol project), it's cluncky, it's slow, the figures downloaded to excel are not recognised as numbers and have to be converted...I effing hate all about it.
I have been in two classes, watched this twice, watched other videos multiple times, and there is still exactly 0 that I understand about Power BI. Can anyone suggest something that might help? Apparently, I need it broken down for me like a five year old.
