Interesting take. "Pragmatism has produced no buildings to speak of" might be a no true Scotsman fallacy since arguably pragmatism has built the vast, vast majority of buildings since the industrial revolution, or at the very least since the dawn of neoliberalism. The claim only seems to make sense if you choose to exclude buildings that you're not interested in speaking about, which is obviously highly subjective. Someone could probably make the case that architects like Norman Foster fall in the pragmatist camp, and it would be a tough sell to completely discount his oeuvre. Also, I'm surprised Rand is still finding her way into architectural conversations... If Roark is the alternative we might be better off with Keating, but let's hope better is possible. Thanks for the thought provoking video.
