Sepsis is a life threatening medical condition that arises when the body’s attempt to fight an infection results in the immune system damaging tissues and organs. In this film you get the basics about sepsis. Sepsisfonden is a foundation engaged in fund-raising to aid sepsis research in Sweden as well as raising public awareness and knowledge around sepsis.

I survived Sepsis. I have a very high pain tolerance, but sepsis is the worst thing I have ever felt. Some part of you wants to die. You're not afraid of the thought of death, but the pain is by far the worst. It took me weeks and weeks, and weeks to recover.

@SuperMilkbox
@SuperMilkbox 7 лет назад
Shrets I had something called an external fixator. I've had a lot of problems on my leg. Since the external fixator has numerous open wounds, I contracted it there. I also had large boils of pus. And I had MRSA at the same time. It wasn't present. :/

Shrets I'm fine. It happened 3 years ago. I guess I still have a lot of problems. I can't really find myself being alone for long, because when I had Sepsis, the hospital was running out of beds, and I was confined to a room on my own, so I struggle with being on my own. I had to have a lot of needles to stop blood clots, so I have a phobia of them. I just take every day as it comes. :3

I, too, got sepsis from a kidney stone blockage, in 1992. I was hallucinating and so sick, I thought I was going to die. When you are this ill, you don't care if you die. If fact, you feel sorry that you are going to live. While I have recovered, it took years. There are still some lasting side-affects that will never go away. I believe I'm one tough broad who has defied death on numerous occasions. Stay well.
@charlessmith263

I suspect the blockage caused acute kidney injury, possibly leading to uremia, which, like sepsis, can kill. I feel sorry about your close call with death from sepsis.

It was just a regular day on Wednesday (it's now Saturday) I got a small tattoo done came back home, went to sleep, woke up the next morning feeling a little unwell but nothing serious. I decided to go back to sleep for a bit as I have M.E and was struggling to stay awake. I woke up about 2 hours later, I was violently and uncontrollably shaking, covered in goosebumbs, had a temperature of 39.2c and felt like I was going to die. Where I had my tattoo done was red/purple in colour, was extremely swollen, hot to touch and was so so painful. I was rushed to a&e where they found that my blood pressure was very low, I had a high temperature and after a blood test they confirmed that I had sepsis (blood poisoning). I stayed in hospital for 24 hours feeling like I was going to die, I started getting chest pains and severe migraines. I was hooked up to an I-V and was given the strongest antibiotics in the hospital, painkillers, anti sickness, rehydration fluids and a load of other medications that I don't know the name of. Thankfully they let me come home last night. I've been put on bed rest until I'm better which could be weeks. Im on a strict medication schedule and I'm in agony and am to traumatised to ever get another tattoo. I could have died if I hadn't of gone to a&e. Even though a tattoo shop may look clean and reputable, it doesn't mean that they always are. Just want to spread awareness of sepsis and how it starts.

If your tattoo shop doesn't show a sterilized utensil before they give you the tattoo, don't get the tattoo there, or make them show you its sterile. Not worth the risk, but if they show that it's sterile you should be fine.

Hello everyone! I am recovering from sepsis and I am now out the hospital. Pain & infection is gone but I cannot help feeling so emotional everyday. I was so terrified when i found out i had sepsis and i actually thought about never going home again, and what my mom and boyfriend would feel if i were no longer here... 😢 I feel so thankful and happy I am still here.. i could never take it for granted. I am so emotional about it all still, and I'm home now but I am still recovering. I thank God I am still here and that my white blood count went down to normal levels. Thanking God for helping me heal and sparing me... giving me another chance. Please if any of you looked this video up because you have an infection... please go see the ER immediately!!! I waited way too long & i made the mistake of going to an urgent care facility instead of the hospital.... They gave me a prescription for Bactrim but wouldn't lance it.. later on, i found out from multiple hospital doctors that they SHOULD HAVE lanced it then and there, and the antibiotics won't work until the abcess is drained!! I had symptoms of sepsis already while i was there, but they didn't pick up on it. They just thought i was dehydrated... even though they did diagnose cellulitis and an infected abcess. The urgent care NP told me if my abcess didn't drain on its own in 3 days to come back, and they would cut it open... well, nope, 3 days went by, and i went to the hospital instead... and im glad i did because i had sepsis!!!! 😮😢 If urgent care would have lanced it 3 days later like they planned, they would have sent me home while i had sepsis, and I'd have died !!!! Please dont go to an urgent care for an infection!! If it's painful and swollen for more than 2 days... go to the hospital!! It's better to be safe than sorry, and i definitely learned my lesson. Every doctor in the hospital from the ER to the surgical floor expressed immense dislike of the urgent care facilities. 😢 i waited too long & it could have cost me my life... i am so thankful i am still here and so thankful for the ER doctor who cut and drained it and all the nurses who gave me my IV antibiotics & fluids.... i pray all of you who land on this video find health and care 🙏🏼 ❤️

@@myyoutubechannel3161 sepsis, from everything I've read and from my experience with my mom, sneaks up on people. Anyone can get it, all it takes is for your immune system to go into overdrive in response to an illness or injury. Once someone has sepsis, they need to get to a hospital ASAP. Every second that passes is vital because sepsis can become deadly very fast.

Part of my intestine got blocked and ended up becoming completely blocked and had died due to lack of blood flow. I went in to the ER at first in severe pain and the doctor sent me home and told me I was just constipated. About 4-6 hours later I was vomiting profusely and knew something was wrong. (This wasn’t my first time having a blocked intestine.) I came back, and the same doctor was still working, and when they ran tests on me my white blood cell count was through the roof. I was in septic shock. I remember the doctor looked horrified like he’d reallly fucked up. I ended up having to have an emergency surgery on Christmas Day that ended up taking 6 hours. There was a high chance I was going to die. I had to have blood and plasma transfusions and my lung collapsed twice and I was in ICU for three days on a ventilator. But somehow made it out. That surgeon saved my life. The next time I saw that ER doctor (I’m in and out of the ER a lot due to my health issues), he had this look on his face and just apologized.

Once we we’re at ER he couldn’t breath so many things were going on in the room they asked me to leave the room my whole body was shaking I was confuse I was alone there I had no idea what was going on. My grand mother has pneumonia and sepsis and im scared what could happen to her she is in the usa taking medication and have not seen her like 7 years. I really miss her and want too see her and bond with her physically because we always video call due to here being in america but now after her complications we cant do it and its been like 4 months from now or more since our last video call where she is in good health. I really hope for recovery and I hope that god blesses and her and I hope things are not too late because my father is going to america to visit my grandma(*his mother) and his conversation with my aunt is like shes telling that he should rush everything and telling that their mother is in pain and weakening its just so sad to read their conversation because if something happens to her it would really break my fathers heart because he has not seen her for 7 years and more and they only went home for vacation like 3 months or less i dont remember and i was still young 9 years old and we should have made the most out of it. :'(

I got sepsis and my problem was breathing difficulties and I couldnt sleep at night cause I couldnt breath at night and I got pneumonia from it and it damaged my heart valve and I had to have a heart operation and my valve replaced and they saw at the same time 60 % blockage in one of my tubes so they fixed that as well since they were in my chest and I was in the hospital for 6 weeks and they had a tube going into my arm and into my heart putting anti medicine in me 4 times a day. I survived even though the heart doctor said I had very small chance of surviving. I first went to the hospital on September 11, 2017 and now today it is April 20 2018

I had this horrible backache 2 months ago and I thought it's just a simple backache! I remember after 1 day I couldn't walk because of it and suddenly I started to vomit and my breath was rapid. I had this low blood pressure as well. I was rushed to the hospital by my parents and the worst part of it? They thought I had a panic attack! With no blood test they just prescribed some anxiety tabs! I had to visit different hospitals and after 1 week of pure pain and fear I was diagnosed with a severe UTI which led to sepsis. Although I was not hospitalized I had to take antibiotics for 2 weeks. Although after 2 months I'm fine I still follow my checkups. My ESR levels are still high and I'm trying my best. Wish me luck

I have a question! So when I was 4 I had a urinary track infection that turned into a kidney infection. I alarmist died. I was hallucinating and had a fever of 106. Anyway, life moved on and I kept getting regular fevers that were 103-104. I still get them and I was wondering if that's a sign of anything. Is that my immune system fighting off another minor infection? I feel like I get fevers more often than others, about every couple months or so. I only get fevers, no other symptoms. Can anyone explain this please?

I am 48, female, a long history of cramping and diarrhea.plus my husband having kidney cancer and sepsis.However I was able to control both with Imodium until January. I have been in severe pain since middle of January and have lost 20 pounds. The pain has progressively gotten worse. It started as a “bladder infection” pain, but all urinary tests came up negative. I even had a CT and ultrasound done. I then had a colonoscopy and upper endoscopy done which the results are most likely Crohn’s disease but I’m waiting for blood test results to confirm, the Prometheus test was done. However I am still in a lot of pain, I have pressure also, all of it right above my bladder. The pain is as bad as my childbirth labor was. I have had a total hysterectomy, appendectomy, gall bladder removed also. Also, I have this weird sensation of a string pulling through my genitals. That’s the best way to describe it, but it kind of feels like a nerve or tendons being pulled. There is also throbbing in my abdomen and genitals. I have also been to my gynecologist, nothing abnormal shown as I figured with my hysterectomy. I believe I am at least gluten intolerant, but tests show I am on borderline of celiac disease. I have been trying to correlate the pain with something and I noticed as my bladder fills up, the pain increases. But here’s probably the biggest clue, when doing the prep for my colonoscopy, as soon as my bowels were clear, I had no pain, not even when my bladder filled up. I didn’t start hurting again until hours after eating again the following day when my bowels filled up again. Also, I noticed that when I take Imodium for diarrhea I hurt more, probably because the stool is sitting in there instead of going right then. i was then introduced to a chinese herbalist Dr sale bashiru i got the herbs and oil a long with my husband kidney cancer just about 3 months past without pains and symptoms and my husband fully cured also.here is my email. chamcheng362@gmail.com
