I've watch the whole series on mosfets. these videos are jewels, invaluable to newcomers. kudos to you for providing such synthetic, simple and clear explanations.

@2:44 it's a wrong statement that we use MOSFET in saturation and cutoff region for switching application ....it should be linear and cutoff region...if you Operate MOSFET in saturation region there will be high VDS drop across the MOSFET..which leads to high power dissipation... MOSFET saturation region used for constant current application.

Can you share any reference which supports this statement?

@@FoolishEngineer I can't upload any documents here but below links will help you to understand the what do you mean by saturation term for MOSFET and BJT ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wX7STW1G1JA.html ....I have seen lot people makes this mistake what you have done .. Let's say you are using MOSFET as switch and you are operating in a saturation region then voltage across the MOSFET would be very high but that wouldn't be our intention in the switch we want voltage drop across the switch should be as small as possible. Do you think that is possible in saturation region or else do some simulation ,your concepts would be clear.

Thank you! I follow Prof. Sam Ben-Yaakov, he gives very good explanations. But can you share a name of any reference book, application note or white paper from a device manufacturer which supports this theory. It would be very helpful & Authentic reference for me. Whatever I have explained in this video is all based on my references which are mentioned in the description. I haven't done the simulation but I have used MOSFETs in many of my applications which clears my concepts.

Yes he is right. Because in linear region MOSFET has less resistance In saturation resistance is very high. Most of the power will be dissipate across the switch itself if region is saturation.

It would be good if you could give an example. I.e if you are controlling a motor with PWM at 24V and your duty cycle is more than 10% you are basically in DC. And for the MOSFET in the example the maximum current would be 0.6A

Providing reference documents it's a good for us also thank-you very much brother. & I have one doubt why BJT is NTC & FET is PTC please make one video about this

hi. how can I search for MOSFET that is more capable in the DC region? Because in Mouser they give filters for everything except the power in the DC region. the example I want Mosfet to use it as variable resistance with a voltage between 50 and 200V and current between 1A and 20 amp without burning out

Hi, you have mentioned below ZTC is PTC response and above is NTC response but if we observe below ZTC as temp increases current increasing means Rds_on reduced this gives NTC characteristics same like above ZTC, as temperature increases current decreasing means high Rds_on give PTC response. please correct me if am wrong

Hi, The video got it wrong. If you increase VGS beyond ZTC, you still get higher currents out of it. That is just not shown in the figure. Lines follow a (VGS-Vth)^2 function in that region.

Если импульс составляет 10мс, сколько при этом транзистор должен быть выключен? 50%?
@ElPajarracoGaming468

So, if you send pulses below 10us, lets say 5us the mosfet will explode, right?
