A video that covers both the greats and issues with Stable Diffusion. I like it! It’s important that people understand both the usefulness and pitfalls of these kind of AI tools.

I’m pinning this comment so more people can see it. It’s incredibly important to include those pitfalls in the discussion around this topic. There are brand new ethical and legal hazards created by this new technology, and this channel will not shy away from addressing them head on.

Thank you for this helpful run-down, I very much appreciate it. As something of an artist who works mostly in the digital realm, if somebody or something wants to produce artworks in 'my style(s)' or even heavily inspired by one of my 'paintings' that's absolutely fine by me! I only ask is that you don't directly rip-off my works or pass yours off as mine. If someone chooses to produce a work heavily inspired by a specific example or 'style' that's fine, if that is an AI what is the difference? Like all artists I've done 'paintings' heavily inspired by the works of others, even some close copies of famous works by 'great masters' or simply other's photos I liked the look of. All of these 'paintings' are MY work... just so long as I don't try to pass them off as the work of others that's absolutely fine and I would say the same of any other artist who does the same with my work. Of course it's polite to credit your inspirations, especially if you have produced a close copy of something that isn't famous. But that isn't necessary. To my understanding any generative AI is only doing exactly the same thing, if (maybe) without that added spark of inspiration a 'real' artist might bring. I see no justification for copyright claims as long as the results aren't passed off as by the original artist or close copies made with the intention of making money in place of the originator - I'd be really pissed if I sold my version of The Mona Lisa in my own name and The Louvre took me to court!

i think these kind of tech should be illegal to scrape the entire internet they should only be allowed in a closed network or private hostings

You mentioned that you would concentrate on SD v1.5 as most developers use this AND the NSFW images could be generated. I appear to have v2.1, but would like to try v1.5. Can I do this?

I’m working as fast as I can on a full Stable Diffusion guide. There’s lots of one-shot tutorials out there but not enough that go from A to Z. Glad you enjoyed it!
