I appreciated the fact that in SBR most of the Stands are not punching ghosts and that the Stand users mostly did their own fighting, using their stand-abilities to merely aid them in combat and not do the fighting for them.

Finished Steel Ball Run today. Now I am coming to terms with the fact that pretty soon I will be at a point where I only get my reason to live in monthly doses.

I feel like araki intended it to be divided up like this: parts 1, 2, and 3: original jojos. Parts 4, 5, and 6: the original jojos kids. And part 7, 8 and potentially 9: alternate universe.

One thing that not everybody picks up upon is that JoJo's Parts 4-6 follow the adventures of the children of the JoJos from parts 1-3. Part 4 following Joseph's son, Part 5 following Jonathan's son, and Part 6 following Jotaro's daughter.

And most of all Valentine doesn't have a time manipulation ability

I started reading part 7, I love all the characters. Gyro is awesome, and Johnny is a probably my 2nd favorite Jojo.

Part 7 summed up in one sentence: "Superpowered cowboys join a nationwide race where Jesus gives the main characters abilities to fight a dinosaur man and a dimension-hopping President."

Stand fights on horses! Stand fights on horses? STAND FIGHTS ON HORSES! But in all seriousness, I consider this the best part I've finished so far. It's not my favorite part, that title goes to Battle Tendency, but I can agree that it has the most depth to it's antagonists, protagonists and the setting really grabbed me. I would never have considered myself to be a fan of westerns before reading, but I was immediately hooked by the race setting. I can't wait to see this animated. The only slightly negative thing I can say is that Johnny has my least favorite JoJo design. I still like it, I just feel like there's a bit much going on. Even compared to other major characters in Part 7. Maybe it's just all of those stars. Like, we get it Araki, America lol.

Yet again JJBA gives us a compelling, likeable, funny lead character who’s competent, strong, memorable and you root for him. Johnny is there too.

I find it hard to believe that the SBR universe wasn't made by the world reset. I don't really feel like Araki would need to confirm if it is as it should just be obviously implied. I've looked around to see if he has confirmed whither this is true or not and cannot find it anywhere. I just don't see what the purpose would be in not making it the universe Pucci made.

One correction: Almost half of the minor antagonists in Part 5, with the exceptions of Cioccolata, Zucchero/Sale, Polpo, Secco, Tiziano/Squalo, and Carne, were NOT working for the Boss. They were, in fact, betraying the gang out of spite of the Boss, due to the facts that (1) they wanted revenge against the Boss for murdering their two comrades after they started looking into his past (Formaggio especially seemed to have wanted revenge more than any of the other members of his group), and (2) they wanted to take over Passione for themselves (this applies especially to Risotto, not only because he's the leader, and the fact that he was the last remaining survivor of his team after all the others had been killed, but also because. Also, Cioccolata and Secco themselves were plotting against the Boss the entire time, but they both died before their plans could come to fruition. And Sale and Mario Zucchero, while working for the Boss, still had the same short-term goals as Buccellati, to obtain money and rise higher in the ranks of Passione. While it isn't as diverse and intricate as the system of minor antagonists in Steel Ball Run, I think it's important to note that saying these minor antagonists aren't with goals and motivations of their own is just... wrong. Also, I do have to say that Funny Valentine falls _exactly_ under your description of "having some twisted justification for his wrongful actions", especially when you consider everything he did (the dozens of people whose deaths he either directly or indirectly caused and showed no remorse for, attempting to rape the 14 year old Lucy Steel solely for the sake of having a child, etc, betraying everyone's trust on multiple occasions with outright lies, which also applies to all the times he just fucked over several of his subordinates and even innocent civilians, etc.), he considers to be "for justice". In fact, I'd say Funny Valentine _epitomizes_ the "having twisted justification for things they do" type of villain, just like Pucci. Except, to me, Pucci did it better on multiple levels, one of which _particularly_ being the intricacy of the connection between his backstory and his motivations.

Steel Ball Run (スティール・ボール・ラン Sutīru Bōru Ran?) is the seventh story arc of the Japanese manga series JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, written and illustrated by Hirohiko Araki. Set in 1890, it stars Gyro Zeppeli, a disgraced former executioner, and Johnny Joestar, a former hot-shot jockey who was shot and lost the use of his legs, as well as his fame and fortune. They, along with others, race across America for $50 million, reminiscent of the 1981 film The Cannonball Run. Originally the first 23 chapters (4 volumes) were serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump in 2004 simply under the title Steel Ball Run. Only about 2-3 of the minor villains in part 3 were actually brainwashed, the majority of them were just degenerates (though they were flat) to begin with and were usually serving DIO out of fear or monetary gain... Though some were just gay for DIO

I'm a big time JoJo's bizarre adventure fan ever since I saw steel ball run in the early 2000's and it being the second longest running anime I'm glad this new version and more less reboot version is out, I until it reaches steel ball run it's been on my bucket list for some years now.
