Him getting such honorary award will be seen as discrediting Ronaldo's presence in World football, knowingly or unknowingly. Rather wait for them to retire and then after some years award that to someone who's presence just stands out from rest others. If there's none , award should be given to none.

Wrong information!!! This award is given to player who has won the Baloon D'or in three different decades. De stefano won it and Messi Did as well so he will be awarded with it. Not because of the National trophy but because of winning Baloon D'or.
