Well, done, Fr Anthony. More and more through the teaching of you and Father Chris we are learning about the Holy Spirit and the influence in our present day lives. That is the beauty of the Marians; you each bring a unique and special gift or as you say charism to your teaching. The whole is definitely greater than the sum of the parts. With all the changes in the Church, and knowing those of us who hold to preservation of traditions, the ' new, modern ideas ' and terminology are very difficult. There are the writings of so many Saints. Using quotations from them in the description of gifts are preferable. You describe the fruits of Pentecost, yet the Saints, although gifted had their own individual paths. Gifts given to each individual. As you say, exactly, the words 'Charismatic Renewal' are not well received. Prayer tongues and such have not been seen since when? I think the Charisms not Charismatic Renewal of God are kept to each in private. I think this type of expectation as a group or movement has led to Protestants speaking in tongues, and we have warnings of exorcists that demons have potentially caused these "wonky tongues." I understand that this aspect of our faith is interesting. I struggle with your talk. I thought we were not to WANT to be in anticipation, looking for' special gifts.' If they come to us it's between us and our Creator, our confessor? I feel strange hearing this talk. Charism, sure. Renewal ? Returning to tradition is the best way to renew. Clean, dust, restore, repatriate, renew by returning. to the truths of faith. Or even worse, as you say, things can happen. We need spiritual counsel. Things happen. Don't expect them to happen. And don't think yourself special because you experienced something. Be aware, see it, have faith and be cautious. Read the signs. By God's fruits you will know Him.
