.28 seems to be optimal for good flight stability while still retaining enough velocity to hit farther targets quicker in outdoor in a long range machine gunning battle rifle (400-420fps) setup in my opinion. I use them with my flat hops and I think it is much better than a .30 with that added speed
depends on the range. a heavier BB will leave the barrel slower than a lighter one, and leave the barrel with the same energy. however, a heavier BB will carry the energy further than a lighter one. thus being able to deliver more energy on impact = hits harder
I use .12g BBs for my 40 mm grenades and hand grenades. I have a nice spray and range with them, specially with 40 mm .20 I use them on shotguns and AEPs .25: For my AEGs around 320-350 fps. .40 are feeding my bolt. I use tracer BBs indoors. They are really useful where light is low and help a lot to see your trajectory.
A little spec 4 hint for you fellas, fill your mags up so the last 10 rounds are different colors. Then you know when you're about to run out. Youre welcome.
The reason for black bb's is that it is nearly impossible for enemies to track, and work especially well if you have a well sighted in gun and you know for sure it will hit where you aim.
Buy .25 .28 .32 and use all three with your weapon untill you find the right one based on the range. Also buy PREMIUM. I play outdoors and use .25 for my pistols all have MapleLeaf drop in kits, which makes a HUGE difference). And .30 in my AEG
Thanks for the info. For those with attitudes who think everyone here knows this or that.... I'm apparently not everyone. I am new to airsoft and learning all I can which includes BB differences etc. Thank you
Fantastic video! All points were touched and well said. Great video for people trying to get out of that intermediate performance level. Wish I had something like this 3 years ago when i started........ I was forced to splurge and figure it out myself
Range less than 15 metres = 0.20 & 0.25 Range 15 metres to 30 metres = 0.30 Range 30 metres to 50 metres = 0.36 or 0.40 Sniper/DMR - plus 0.40 but you need 400 plus fps (using 0.20) FPS = range (distance the BB will travel, greater the FPS further the BB will travel - within reason) weight = Accuracy You are looking for a balance between the 2, FPS & Weight - use the above guide and load a few mags with different weights and see what you get, then pick what you prefer and if you BB's travel like those at 7.57 then you need to turn your hopup "up" they had to little hopup hence the BB's dropping like they did.
It would be fantastic if you did a video on your polarstar dmr. I'm currently building my polarstar dmr and would love to see your build. Great vid btw.
I do run .12s in my shotgun though and in a cheap cyma mp5. I wouldnt use them in anything with a tightbore as I have had them get stuck in a 6.03mm barrel a lot.
Black BBs go both way. I can’t even count the times where I’ve seen white BBs go towards me and dodged them ONLY because I have seen it fly towards me. So I’d say black BBs are good for milsim style. while white / tracers are good for CQB where you hipfire
My favorite type are .25 bbs because they work well with high quality airsoft guns and low quality airsoft guns. But I wouldn't recommend them if you are using a sniper, unless it's a cheap crappy sniper
Do you think I can use the .25 in my all metal Sig I think it's the 226. The replicas for the new United States military gun. Says it will shoot 325 feet per second. I also have a 9/11 all metal. UK arms. Not the highest quality but it's solid and it works all the time. That's supposed to be about 260 feet per second could you think the .25 BB's are too heavy for a spring pistols period. Will they mess my gun up or should I just stay with the.20bb.s
yall need to call the shop or check the website you will be playing at they have range rules and certain bb rules on how much they weigh etc..so call before ordering a bunch of .40 gram bbs you cant use
Are you saying if your gun shoot 400fps with 20g bb’s? Or still shoot 400fps with the higher weight ones? Cause I was told you lose fps the heavier the BB is. So my 400fps gun with 20g would only shoot like 300fps with a 30g bb
You forgit the .16 gram bb's. They are are also for low piwered guns if they have hopups. Ukarms ak47 anyone (never buy a ukarms. Half if them are only good as a prop and the rest are all back yard airsoft).
Scorpion EVO (limited, downgraded) at a max of 360fps, outdoor with a 9.9v Life battery, what weight? Thinking about 0.25grams but not sure if 0.30 is fine aswell
For a rifle that has 350-380 fps 0.2 bb, what is the best bb weight for the best overall length & accuracy? When I use 0.2 shooting outdoor, the bb seems to swing right/left depending on the wind at a range of 8-10 meters. I hope that I can nail a target at 20-30 meters, so please advice. Thanx.
yea same. the hairy red head irratates me because he is always so grungy and for someone reason has hip hop instrumentals in the background......doesnt fit........ im down to cast for a persona lol
You want to use at least .25's unless you're using a japanese gun and especially if you are running duster gas on said Japanese gun. Your tm recoil also only shoots 280fps stick. Im nit a big fan of tm recoils because peoole will say they're great guns but immediately after telling you how it preforms theyb ell you only the gb shell is tm. Flr full powered guns that shoot 300 fps or you're running a tm hicapa on green gas, you want .25's.
If you are shooting 400fps with a .20 I would get at least .28g. The .28 will fly much better and have more power to cut up brush and on the long range shots bring more punch to the target player. Just keep in mind in close range shots be smart with a High powered airsoft gun and a Heavy bb. It will bring some pain so 1 shot into a good location is the idea. I shot into some thick stuff at my son on accident and he had 2 bruises from my Jack shooting 400 with a .25g bb. I was using .30g at the time shooting about 360. He was about 50 feet away and behind some thick green. The skin was removed on impact and the bruises were about the size of a golf ball. He was unhappy to say the least and It was my mistake.
You don't need different bbs. You need to unjust your airsoft gun. Putting heavier BBs in your gun will decrees your FPS, but your shots will still hurt just as much (or more). Most fields say you have to be shooting under 400 FPS with .20g BBs in you gun. So you have to change something internally. If this is an electric airsoft gun the spring is what you want to change. Heavier BBs are not for changing your FPS to pass chrono; you put heavy BBs in you gun after you pass chrono and they increase your accuracy and precision. Make sense? What kind of airsoft gun do you have?
For .12's what about grenade launchers which are. Just meant to wuicly clear a room wit its extra wide shotgun spread essentially or grenades that throw bb's everywhere. Are those good for that since they are cheaper. No o wouldnt shoot them out of one of my guns unless it was an lpeg or *WALMART* springer. I say that because sniper rifles and shotguns that arent single shot will have issues.
johnfarscape as long as you use very good ones. Now that I snipe and normally shoot .40s, I sometimes mess around and put .12s in. They're like little laser beams.
In my opinion .20 is best for pistols and/or aegs but .25+ is best for a sniper rifle, I just use .12 for when I want to shoot my aeg or pistol because I have a ton of those
What about support guns? I feel like you should have done a recommendation for a saw. I suppose .25 -.32, but I would like second opinions. I use .2 -.25 due to the lower cost of using the large amount of ammo.
If you in a country where 360 fps is the limit you going to have to watch out some guns here only shoot 280-300 fps if you put .3 in them they wont go real far as it will drop to 200 fps
I’m getting an 80$ game face tommy gun off of Amazon and that being said I want to get a less powerful spring to make the FPS around 280 for backyard wars as I don’t do airsoft. Which spring should I purchased and should I stick with .20 g bbs it’s recommended for, or start using 12.g ones?
The best normal bb to tracer ratio is i'd say 1:2.5 - 1:3 you have every 3 shot more or less a tracer, whem shooting relatively fast (several semi auto fire or auto) you'll get a few tracers.... If you use only full auto, i'd say 1:3 - 1:4 if you dont shoot that much or shoot maybe only 1-3 shots at a time, i'd say 1:2
